Cradle of Aviation Museum on Long Island
Exhibits at the Cradle of Aviation Museum As there have been many monumental events in regard to aviation on Long Island, it is only expected that there would be a museum in this area that is dedicated to the subject of flight. The exhibits that are present at the Cradle of Aviation Museum include displays that span a number of centuries starting with balloon flights and going all the way up to current day aviation. Some of the more popular displays include those which provide information on kites, biplanes and military aircraft. What makes the exhibits at the Cradle of Aviation Museum so wonderful is that they are set up in chronological order so that individuals can see the timeline with regard to aviation. The fee for entry into the museum is quite reasonable at $9.00 for adults and $8.00 for children from the ages of 2-12. Leroy R. & Rose W. Grumman IMAX Dome Theater The IMAX Theater is probably one of the most innovative concepts these days with regard to theater projection. The way that the IMAX Theater is laid out makes it possible for seated individuals to get the best possible view from wherever they may be. Not only does the Leroy R. & Rose W. Grumman IMAX Theater show movies relating to aviation, but they also show some movies which have different subject matters as well. The cost for seeing an IMAX picture is $8.50 for adults and $6.50 for children from the ages of 2-12. If one wishes to purchase a combo ticket, which includes both museum entry and IMAX entry, the fee would be $16.50 for adults and $13.50 for children. If one is on Long Island and looking for a great way to spend the day, then the Cradle of Aviation Museum and IMAX Theater may just be the perfect place to do so. Laura Rupert
