DICKENS BALL AND FESTIVAL

Fun, Food and Dancing At the Dickens Ball and Festival

If one is going to be in the Port Jefferson area of Long Island during the period of December 2nd to December 4th, 2005, then their attendance at the Dickens Ball and Festival is highly recommended. This fun festival is one where the Dickens characters and time period in which the novel takes place comes to life in beautiful Port Jefferson. This weekend is filled to the brim with fun and exciting activities and events.

Festival Ball

Although the Dickens Festival will be entering its 10th season, this will be the first year in which a festival ball will take place. The dancing and fun will transpire at the Village Center from 8 pm to 11 pm where costumes and gowns will be worn in order to transport individuals back to the time in which the Dickens novels were supposedly centered around. This first ever Dickens Ball is sure to be a phenomenal event which will have a lasting place in the Port Jefferson Dickens Festival.

Tours and Concerts

The Victorian Lanternlight House Tour will take place on Saturday, December 3, 2005 from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. The tour will feature beautiful homes in a scenic tour and tickets for this event are $25 per person.

If listening to beautiful music is more to the liking of an individual, then a concert performed by the Swedish Nightingale, Jenny Lind, might equate with the perfect evening. Jenny Lind will be performing at the First United Methodist Church at 8 pm and tickets for this event cost $25.

Dickens Christmas Carol Parade

The weekend will have a grand finale on Sunday, December 4, 2005, when the Dickens Christmas Carol Parade takes place. Any individual in costume who wishes to be part of this wonderful event can do so. There is no better way to finish up the weekend than with a holiday parade.

The Dickens Festival in its 10th year is sure to be a crowd pleaser and get everyone in the holiday spirit. All individuals big and small are encouraged to attend this fine Port Jefferson festivity.
