GETTING ENGAGED ON LONG ISLAND

Where to Get Engaged On Long Island

When two people decide they are going to get married, that point in time when they express the desire to do so is perhaps one of the most important times in their lives. For this reason, ensuring that everything is perfect at that special time is a necessity. For those couples who are getting engaged on Long Island, there are quite a few different places where doing so will set the scene perfectly.

Propose on the Shore by a Lighthouse

When people think of lighthouses, many of them conjure up wonderful thoughts of standing by the water, looking out at this beautiful, historical structure. For those individuals, getting engaged in a scenic area such as this one might just be the perfect place to do so. There are a number of lighthouses located along the shores of Long Island. Depending on whether the lighthouses are accessible or not, one may decide that one particular lighthouse is better than another when planning to propose near one of these structures. One lighthouse which may set the scene perfectly for a proposal is the Montauk Point Lighthouse in Montauk. There is something about the Montauk Point Lighthouse which just exudes romance and it has even been the setting for wedding ceremonies in the past.

Propose Amongst the Beautiful Landscape of Old Westbury Gardens

Another wonderful setting where an individual can propose marriage to their loved one is at Old Westbury Gardens in Old Westbury, New York. The grounds provide a beautiful setting for telling one’s true love how much they care and asking for their hand in marriage. If one would rather, they can always propose on the spectacular balcony while they are looking out towards the gardens. Whatever one chooses, there are many places at Old Westbury Gardens that sets the perfect scene for a marriage proposal.

These are just a few of the marvelous and romantic places which Long Island provides as an appropriate backdrop for a marriage proposal. Other places such as the Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium or one of the many museums of art may provide a great place to propose. The best way in which to choose a spot is to know what one’s significant other would appreciate the most and then go with that.
