Janene Mascarella's Review Policy

As is standard in the industry, I am often privy to free or discounted services to help me research or learn about a new product or destination. Please know, my reviews, comments and recommendations are not influenced by this practice--at all. My words are mine and as a full-time freelance writer, all I have is my reputation.

My policy in a nutshell: If it's not something I'd buy/book for myself for full price or if it's not something I'd recommend to my sister or my mom and dad, my father-in-law--I won't be mentioning it. Period.

I get the heads up on a lot of cool things, but not all are article-worthy and I always make that perfectly clear when I get something to try for free or at a discount. If I don't like something, I probably won't mention it at all (I prefer to use my writer-powers for good--not evil), but again--anything I recommend I truly believe in. I won't trick you into buying a bad tasting cereal just because I received a free bag of granola. No way--there's too much at stake, and quite frankly, my integrity is worth way more than a free tube of lipstick. If it's not fabulous--my lips are sealed.

Also note, your mileage may vary, but if I'm writing about it here, it's something I'm confident is worthy of your hard earned money.
