Cocktails By the Bay in Sag Harbor For Miracle House
Ms. Allen discussed her latest performance on stage returning to Broadway in March 2009 when she played the role of Katherine Keenan in Michael Jacobs' play "Impressionism" opposite Jeremy Irons at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. She was also excited to inform us about her latest project co-producing and starring in her latest film project for Lifetime TV "Georgia O'Keeffe" also starring Jeremy Irons.
Ms. Allen has had an illustrious career in show business and has worked in television, theatre, and motion pictures. Ms. Allen has achieved the highest award for her Broadway debut in Burn This, receiving in 1989 a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a theater production. She also received three Academy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress for Nixon (1995) and The Crucible (1996), and for Best Actress for The Contender. Throughout our conversation she highly stressed the importance of supporting, contributing and participating in assisting Miracle House. Hamptonites gathered at the home of Gerry Logue President on the Board of Directors of Miracle House to show their interest and support while listening to musical entertainment presented by Peter Mazza Trio. A beautiful bayfront setting set the stage for the lively event. Cocktails, hors d'oeuvers, live and silent auctions, including opportunities to bid on French Rivera and South Beach oceanfront apartments and a chance to win the new E-Road Electric Bike. I also had the pleasure of interviewing Mr. Gerry Logue. Not only is Mr. Logue a humanitarian and a philanthropist, he is also a creative entertainment and television executive who throughout his career has developed advertising campaigns for the launches of numerous television series, movies and Broadway shows. Logue works for NBC Universal based in NYC. Miracle House mission is to provide shelter, nourishing meals, and advocacy to caregivers and patients arriving in New York City for critical medical treatment. Their caring services include three major components:
Temporary Shelter Meals Advocacy Miracle House is a proud member of The National Association of Hospital Hospitality Houses, Inc. The NAHHH is a non-profit corporation serving facilities that provide lodging and other supportive services to patients and their families when confronted with medical emergencies. Each facility assures that a homelike environment is provided to persons who must travel to be with a patient or to receive necessary outpatient care. On July 25th, 2009 Miracle House once again in grand tradition launched their Ninth Annual sunset cocktail party benefiting this fabulous non-profit organization. The event was hosted by Tony Award winning actress Joan Allen who is a huge supporter of Miraclehouse.org. You may all remember her from the 2004 film "The Bourne Supremacy" where she portrayed the character CIA Dep. Dir. Pamela Landy.
