Higher Education in a Beautiful Setting
Hofstra University is a well known college that is located in Hempstead on Long Island. Not only does Hofstra University provide undergraduate degrees in various majors such as fine arts, education, and mathematics to name a few, but it offers graduate programs as well that result in degrees such as Ph.D and Juris Doctorate degrees. Roughly 14,000 students attend Hofstra and a little over 1/3 of the students live on campus. This private institution has a lot to offer both undergraduate and graduate students with regard to not only education but athletic sports teams as well. Their NCAA football team is well known around the country as is their men and women’s basketball teams. Attending a school such as Hofstra University is a great way to get a top notch education in a wonderful area. Dowling College is another Long Island institution of higher learning. This college has two campuses on Long Island, one in Oakdale and the other in Shirley. This private institution has on average around 7,000 students enrolled each year who take a variety of courses to pursue degrees such as Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ed.D degrees. Some undergraduate programs which are offered at Dowling include Computer Science, Psychology, Social Work and Marketing. This school also hosts NCAA Division II sports such as Basketball, Baseball, Tennis and Softball. Individuals looking to attend Dowling College may also apply for a variety of financial aid in order to help fund their education. If one is looking to attend a smaller college, then Long Island University, Brentwood Campus might just be the perfect school. LIU Brentwood offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs in a few different majors. The main undergraduate program at this school is Criminal Justice and some of the graduate programs are Business Administration, Education and Criminal Justice. This college which has around 1,400 enrolled students offers education in a personal setting and is perfect for those individuals looking to pursue a degree in one of these aforementioned areas at a smaller school.
