Long Island is a beautiful area with an unbelievable amount of fun and interesting things to do while there. One particular area on Long Island which has events, activities and attractions galore is Nassau County. The following location suggestions are great options for spending the day in Nassau County.

Spend a Few Hours at the Garvies Point Museum

The Garvies Point Museum and Preserve is located in Glen Cove, New York and provides a wonderful attraction for those who express an interest in geology, history and Long Island in general. Geology and Native American archaeology are some of the main themes within this great museum and the displays are incredibly enlightening and informative for individuals of all ages. For an extremely reasonable price, $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children 14 and under, families can visit the Garvies Point Museum and have quite a good time.

Grab a Spectacular Deli Sandwich at Ben’s Deli

Ben’s Kosher Delicatessen Restaurant & Caterers have three convenient locations along the North Shore in Nassau County which makes getting to one even that much easier. The sandwiches are of generous proportions and the restaurants are kid-friendly for those families who have little ones with them. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the food delicious. Stopping in for a bite to eat in between activities may be the perfect thing to do.

Spend the Afternoon at the Children’s Museum or Old Westbury Gardens

After lunch, why not head down to the South Shore for a journey through the Long Island Children’s Museum, which is located in Garden City. With its numerous displays, films and hands-on attitude, the Long Island Children’s Museum should be the place to end the day for all of those families with children.

If individuals are spending the day in Nassau County and no children are along for the ride, why not hop on over to Old Westbury Gardens in Old Westbury. This beautiful mansion and landscaped grounds will provide a wonderful afternoon for individuals who wish to experience a little of the past.
