SUBMITTING LONG ISLAND ARTICLES

What are the primary skills, and how do I become a Long Island Exchange writer?

The first skill a writer should have, of course, is writing. You should be able to write in a clear, concise manner. You may or may not be able to add some stylistic flair. Either way, your job is to clearly tell your audience exactly what your article is about.

The second skill a writer should have is knowledge of the article topic. Articles should always be about Long Island, New York, or anything else that is of interest to a reader living in our community.

How do I know if my article goes public?

If we choose to except your article, we will contact you via email with a conformation and link to the location of your published article.

Does my name stay attached to the article as the author?

Yes, your name will stay attached to the article identifying you as the author.

Can I get paid for my article?

Yes, if you send in an article and we would like to use it, you can get paid for your article. (Please note: At this time, this is only for town history and location information. We have enough paid columnists at this time)

How do I submit an article to Long Island Exchange for review?

Send a simple text copy to webmaster@longislandexchange.com Do not mail files or documents in the form of attachments without first contacting us. We do not open attachments from unknown recipients.

By submitting an article you agree to our TOS terms of service.
