Welcome In Spring with Some Trips to Area Public Gardens

Now that Easter has come and gone, one is sure to see more sights of spring as the days progress. Flowers will continue to make their break from the ground and the days will continue to get warmer. For those individuals who can hardly wait to slip on those flip-flops, why not take a trip to one of the many local public gardens to really get in the mood for spring?

Bayard Cutting Arboretum

Located in Oakdale/Great River, New York, this Long Island botanical hotspot is the ideal setting for an afternoon walk. One who visits Bayard Cutting Arboretum will see a wide array of flowers in bloom which may include rhododendron, daffodils and wildflowers, to name a few. If one wishes to take a walk back in history as well while in the area, the estate house on the premises is a nice place to tour in between taking in the sights of the blooming flowers.

Planting Fields Arboretum

Another wonderful public garden area on Long Island is the Planting Fields Arboretum. This Oyster Bay spot is one which is sure to delight all who visit the premises. From beautiful landscaping to azalea displays, the sights which greet visitors to Planting Fields Arboretum are ones which are not soon forgotten. For those individuals who wish to take a Planting Fields souvenir home with them, the gift shop at the arboretum is sure to please.

LongHouse Reserve

For those who live in or are visiting the Easthampton area of Long Island, a trip to LongHouse Reserve to view the public gardens is a must. Meticulously groomed sculpture gardens are sure to catch the eye of all who visit LongHouse Reserve. When an indoor break is in order, visitors can journey through the gallery at the Reserve to experience various art displays which are presented therein.

Springtime is the perfect time for stepping out to smell the roses and taking a trip to one of the above places is a great way to do so.
