Enjoy the Past at Old Westbury Gardens
History of Old Westbury Gardens Built in the year 1904 and fully completed in 1906, this historic landmark was once the home of the Phipps family and has a wonderful history behind it. The house itself was built based on a Charles-II architectural design and surrounded by land consisting of approximately 160 acres with various landscaping and wooded areas. The house still contains fabulous antiques and artworks from its prior owners.
When touring Old Westbury Gardens, visitors will be able to view antiques, wonderful artwork, the gardens and the architecture of the home itself. Old Westbury Gardens is open for tours between mid-April to the end of October and visitors can view the home and gardens without spending more than $10/person and frequently less than that for senior citizens and children. Although the guided tour season is not 365 days a year, Old Westbury Gardens has a number of events which are hosted on the property throughout the year. Children’s programs, book signings, teas, indoor and outdoor concerts and workshops are just a smattering of the number of events which occur at Old Westbury Gardens.
