Hey Laura, My son was diagnosed with ADD.... So they say.... and was prescribed Stratera.... Have you ever heard of it?
He seems to be doing much better in school..... Grades are picking up....
What's your take on prescription drugs and ADD?

[COLOR=DarkSlateBlue]I have heard of Stratera. My take on prescription drugs and ADD is that people take medications for all sorts of things, whether it be a headache, upset tummy, antibiotics, or meds for serious illnesses, etc. They ALL have possible side effects, but most of us use what we use because we choose to put up with the side effects (if any) because the good the medication does outweighs the bad. When this isn't true, we stop taking the medication and either change to another or stop altogether.
If Stratera is helping your son concentrate better with his school work and the good outweighs any mild, negative side effects he may have with the medication, then my opinion would be that the medication is a good idea. His education is very important and anything that can be done to make school and learning a good, positive experience should be done.
I have a web site that offers more info about ADD/ADHD. You can get to the link at the bottom of my site (link below my signature). Hopefully my reply is helpful. ;)
