i had an english mastiff had to put him down about eight weeks ago and im sick. he was 250lbs and the biggest mush in the whole world. he was my third child. he was 41/2 yrs old. we rescued him from a place that sells puppies. he couldnt walk he crawled to us. we loved him so much. he couldnt walk anymore and was in really bad pain. they are great dogs. i would recommend that anyone who wants to buy one should do reseach on them.
what kind of dog i like to call them babies did you have.

He was a german shepard....
He was great - He'd wipe feet before he came in the screen door..... He could diferentiate his toys, his favorite was the "Frog" that he knew by name.....
A mush - but ferocious guard dog....
He was just the best....

he sounds great and really smart. im sorry for your loss and mine.
at least we were part of their life. all of them are great. big or small.
i knew this little dog he was so cute and he would sing with me. i used to groom him when i had a dog grooming shop. i would sing to him and he would sing with me. his owner heard him one time and she felt bad because he would not sing for her. he would go whooo whooo whoo it was very cute. hope this made you smile.

The all-time greatest dog site: www.dogsindepth.com (another long Island based deal). Otherwise. I'll be getting a dog soon enough. I need something to chew through uninvited human - or at least be there in case. :) Dogs certainly are more interesting than cats. Cats are fine - my Fiance and I have one - but they ARE boring. They just sit there. They eat.. They sleep.. That's about it. Maybe once in awhile, it'll meow - when it's hungry...

:) dogs are really great. not only do they chew through humans they give you unconditional love. all they want is to be with you fed and loved.and they love to play. good luck on your search for jaws.

I thought my cat might be intimidating if I'd named her, "Death" - but my Fiance didn't go for it.

I have a great old lab who is about 13.I love her but going back to an apartment with a dog after a house will be hard.the cat will miss going outside unless I wind up in an unpopulated area, unlikely on LI but she will adjust.I tried walking her with the dog but she jusy lay down and refused to budge. Are there dog friendly parks and places to let your dog run? What are the rules on the beach off season? nora
