Why I left NY

I moved to the city last year to accept a job offer for almost $100K per year. Since I couldn't afford to live in the over-priced, arrogant Manhattan, I rented on Long Island, and commuted by train daily.

I have since moved out of NY - gave up my good-paying job and relocated to a much nicer, less-crowded, more affordable region of the country. Believe me, it was worth it! Getting away from you surly "New Yawkas" and your sleazy, gangster-sounding accents was the best decision I made!

But why should I be surprised - a lot of you are Donald Trump wannabes (and trust me, you will only be wealthy and powerful like him in your wildest, wettest dreams). And what's so great about him anyway? He's an arrogant womanizer, and now he's BANKRUPT!!! What a bag of slime!

Another thing: a lot of you in NY are liberal Dems who voted for Kerry in the last election. But that's okay - you deserve flipflops like him, and especially his whiney bitchy wife Ter-AY-zuh. All I can say is thank God the MAJORITY of America rejected your Eastern trashy way of thinking, and re-elected Bush. HAHAHAHAHAHA! Deal with it!!!

You New Yorkers are losing ground fast! Before 1980, New York was the most populated state in the nation. Then CA took over, and you fell to 2nd place. Now, Texas has taken you over, and NY has DROPPED to third place. Soon, states like Florida, North Carolina, Illinois, Georgia, Arizona, and Virginia will outgrow you sleazebags!

And why is NY losing population? It's obvious - People are growing sick of rat-infested dump pits like New York, and New Joisey. The weather is lousy, but it matches your lousy, surly, negative attitudes. I'm now in a sunnier, friendlier, and more patriotic region of the U.S. now. Who needs NY???? Hope all of you drop dead from breathing your filthy air - and all the STRESS of just living there!

I totally agree with you... well no, not totally, I think you're a moron. But let's start with what we have in common:

I feel the majority of Long Islanders act like arrogant know-it-alls. I was born on Long Island, and I've lived in Philadelphia, various parts of southern California, and San Franciso. And I think most of Long Island sucks. There are a few locations I do like, but sometimes the people ruin it.

And doesn't it seem like the majority of Long Island's population are just clones of a few careless, apathetic, arrogant dirt-bags? Sometimes I think no one can think for themselves, and if they consider themselves "different", they usually fit in pretty well with a chunk of the population who is exactly like them. Like everyone says and does the same things.

So yes, I agree with you on that... but, if you notice, what separates you from myself is that I use phrases like "I think" and "I feel", which shows that I am expressing my personal opinion, not fact.

I think NYSux needs a nice big STFU! I moved out of New York as well. I now live in West Palm Beach, Florida.. All New Yorkers. New York weather is crappy and it's ugly. So I hope you'll be okay when as much of New York and New Jersey moves into whatever state you're living in. Because it wont be long. Dopey ass! :p

I Just move here from Massachusetts (near NH) wow..I think long island is ok, very different from Ma and NH but I can get used to it...Just missed the drives thru at DD's and def alot of traffics on highway. Highways in Mass and NH are much better to drive on. I can get from point A to Point B in 5 min in Ma or NH...here is like 2 hours.

yea, the traffic here is rediculous..... When I travel in and out of NY/LI I always try to do it in the middle of the night to avoid all the traffic backups....
