Hello, Senestro.
Brother, do me a favor. Listen to this attempt at a business transaction and let me know if you think I am a racist and/or redneck? :)

Well here it goes, and remember you promised you wouldn't get offended, why on applications for just about anything are certain races described as -----american and all other races are called white. I am 1/2 english and 1/2 irish and I feel I have every right to call myself either irish american or english american or better yet european american. I don't think my background should be compared to someone who is german or italian. Not that I have any dislike for those races, but I just feel that all applications should be politically correct. My real point here is that I feel no race should say ------- american, just have either irish, german, african, italian, hungarian and so on. Obvisiously we are all american, I mean your filling out the application in the U.S. I hope I did not offend anyone, but I have thought this for years and I am not alone on this. Any comments?

Senestro13~ Sweetheart I have nothing against you or what you call yourself.
Jenvencop~ Today society is crazy...everything is all depend on where you live. Theres certain part of the world where you'll never fit in unless you're the same race as everyone else. Have you heard of "Black voices", "Black TV" and "Black history Month" ? I mean come on... Everyone sacrafice their lives for the Good ol' USA, The US Amry, Marine, Navy etc. What our Great Great Grandparent did in the past was "racist" but "we now know better". I have a son and I want him to learn the "heros" by their name and their accomplish, not by their skin colors.
In Egypt, The Pharoah was remember by their Paramids, which put people thru hell and suffering. In America, Thank god theres no Monarchy. We all have choices...If you wanna be rich "Work Hard" aka "Self made millionaire".
~~~~~God Bless USA~~~~~~~~
yeah, i know, but see im in the military and even though we are all fighting the same war and dieing for the same reason, there is still a race question on the application, why i dont understand, i guess i never will. i hope when i die there isn't a race question before i enter heaven LOL, again i am not trying to offend anyone, just make them think, thank you
well, you think right, but i was at one of our training classes and this one guy refused to fill it in and the instructor got up in his face and told him he had to or else. the guy explained that his race wasn't listed, and i guess the instructor thought he was trying to be a smart *ss but he wasn't he was trying to prove a point, so since he wouldn't sign he got kicked out of the class and since we're in the military he was of course "punished" for it.
That is understandable....I bet 10% of american don't know their real nationalities/background. I am mixed w/ 4 diff nationality..percentage wise...i honestly don't know. I am American, but since I know how to speak one of the ethic language i consider myself that 1 nationality. But Yeah I understand~
What are your thoughts on the New Orleans situation, wheere the media at one point were reporting that
"white people are gathering supplies to live, while the black people were looting."
what are your thoughts on the whole situaation?
good question. hummmm well there is a thing such as 2 americas. the media paints a picture. we can either take what they give us or read between the lines. with something like there. it's pretty obvious. there's no hidden agenda. in this day and again it kinda sickening to see. no matter how hard we try everything gets brought back to race, creed and relgion.
The way the media just kept bringing it up time and time again made me sick as well. So much focus was put on it. They were just trying to make a story out of peoples misfortune.
the story should been about the governments lack of response. the whole situation looks bad for america in the eyes of the world.
how "we" go and liberate other "third world countries" when "we" take so long to rescue people in our own boarders
