Some companies are cracking down on employees' off-duty behavior, raising questions about how far employers should go in policing what workers do on their own time.
Employees are being disciplined or fired for such behaviors as drinking on their own time.
if you're off-hours behaving "badly" in the company uniform or if you are a paid representative of X company and you get caught drinking Y in public then they have a valid reason to reprimand, maybe even fire you.
If you're joe blow, Doing whatever you want to do on your own time and as long as whatever your're doing doesn't affect your work, then i don't think your employer should have a say in the matter.
What are your thoughts? anyone have any similar situations you want to share with teh group? or know anyone going throught something like this?
