Jones Beach Questions - PLEASE HELP!

I have never been to Long Island and plan on attending a concert at the Jones Beach Theater in a few weeks. I will be driving down from Boston and have several questions.

First, can someone recommend a good hotel close to the Jones Beach Theater in a safe area? What is the parking situation at the Jones Beach Theater? Should I purchase a premiere parking pass online ahead of time? Also, how is the Jones Beach Theater for seeing a concert?

All suggestions and recommendations are greatly appreciated!

"Hi, I don't usually stay in hotels but what I can tell you is that the parking is fine a the beach, looks crazy at first, but everyone gets a spot. There is not a bad seat in the house for the concert. Expect to have all carry ins searched, but they are looking for alcohol and weapons. Enjoy yourself"
