The Long Island Exchange website is a completely FREE website. Users are given the opportunity to use the site, listen to radio, network, place ads, have articles and press releases published and plenty more all completely free of charge.
The classifieds business alone is a very lucretive business here on Long Island. You've got
Auto Classifieds
Real Estate Classifieds
Personal Ads
General Classifieds
Garage Sale Classifieds
All services that people in most cases have to "pay" for.
As many new sites and services become available to the area, in general, they are all paid services in one way shape or form. Most sites will lure you in with half-way free services then ask you to either pay-per-ad, per-service, or by monthly service fee.
Not only that, but after they've got you, guess what else they've got?
Your email address!
Do you know what they are going to do with that??? Read the fine print.
They will either sell it to a marketing company who will sell it to someone else who will resell it and send you unwanted email for the rest of your natural born life, or they will add you to their "newsletter", which is really just another way for them to market you.
So there is plenty of money to be made right here on Long Island off of the average Long Islander.
The Long Island Exchange (http://www.longislandexchange.com/) is one of the only, if not THE only major Long Island website which continues month after month to show enormous growth while remaining completely free for all with no strings, "catches" or email marketing plans up our sleeves.
How do we do it?
Local business advertisers. This revenue from advertisers is dumped back into the business and "fuels" the Long Island Exchange. Some of the things which are neccessary to exist are:
Hosting Fees
Site Maintenence
Site Security
Royalties / Licencing
Authors / Writers
Product Development
Marketing Expences
Just to name a few.
The Long Island Exchange also decides NOT to take a profit, but to be extreamly aggressive and dedicate all advertising revenue to the above avenues to ensure continuous growth - No easy task.
To be honest, we really enjoy doing it, plus we have another Long Island company backing it all up to make sure it works.
Dispite our competition, the Long Island Exchange refusses to go to a paid platform. We will continue pouring the neccessary funds and man power into the business.
We would like to open up a dialog with all of our users to see just how they feel about our efforts and exactly what it means to Long islanders to have these types of services available to them free of charge.
Please comment here as it is important that we hear from you.
