Thanks but no thanks...........I'm a woman looking for a part time job in an office as a receptionist...........I have been in the pharmacy business for 30 years, but can't do that anymore.......
It seems that everyone out here in Suffolk County, hire kids who don't really do their jobs...........after 50, people just want to throw you away...........
Have a good one.

Tremendes jobs on Long Island, where?????????????? Maybe in Nassua but not in Suffolk.........and all places like to hire kids in their 20's who couldn't give a hoot about their jobs.........once one is over 50, prospective employers must think that we are all dead.....
Also, I am so tired of calling jobs, leaving my name and phone number and NO ONE CALLS BACK, EVEN AFTER A SECOND CALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you have a good answer to that one????
This placed always stunk and now it's even worse..........it's a place for the poor or the very rich to live................cannot wait till I get out of here and move to a state that doesn't screw the average middle class person.
Thanks anyway.

My mom was feeling the same way not too long ago..... She felt that no matter how well seh did on the interview, the jobs always went to the younger woman.,... She eventuall after a little while of looking got a nice job in a school cafateria and she is really happy doing that....
I know how you feel though.... How many days a week are you looking to work? and where in Suffolk did you live around?

Thanks for writing me.........I was a secretary for 5 years, then worked as a Pharmacy Technician from 1972-2002, Certified from 1995.
I am looking for a part-time job, a few days a week. I can type 70WPM, am very honest, dependable and care about whatever job I am working at.
It seems that when I see ads in the Pennysaver, etc., I call, leave my name and number and NO ONE calls back..............what is this world coming to???
I have seen too many young kids in their 20's getting jobs, but employers seem to forget about people over 50. Yes, young people have to start somewhere, but the generation today is not as it was when I wasin my 20's. Older people have more experience (not only for a job) but life's experiences and are more honest and dependable.
If you wish, you may email me at: azangelbaby47@aol.com
Thank you.

I am looking for a job in an office as a receptionist, secretary, etc. It seems that when you call jobs that are in the local papers, NO ONE calls back.......very strange behavior to me.........

Only kidding to brighten the mood ,if i could afford a sec,i'd hire you on the spot, nothing better than experience,i've learned young kids come and go ,most of them have no idea what they want to do,for me the turnover rate is to high, hard work is a scary word to them,im 41 and work 10 hours a day 7 days a week and they can't keep up,and when friday comes, you'll be lucky to see them monday morning bright and early,my last helper made 14.50 an hour and thought he could come in at 10:00 am when i said 9:00 am and get mad when i left without him and then quit! its never easy, good luck Jim
