New to Long island

I'm very new to Long Island and I'm trying to find the right schools for my children. I have heard great things about Medford and horrible things too. My son is 16 and my daughter is 9, if any MOMS can give me advice about the schools or activities I would greatly appreciate it. I need a few Moms to connect with.

Medford is a tough school, not like an inner city school however. Do a search for taxes and see what you can afford.
