For the last week I have been getting bombarded with pop up ads on my home computer, it is so annoying . I don't know how I got the Spyware on my computer, but it is driving me crazy..Some of the Pop Up Ads are slow to load & then you have to look real close to find the "X" to close it .. I have increased my security settings & that hasn't helped..
I have also used AD-AWARE SE PERSONAL & SPYBOT SEARCH & DESTROY & that hasn't worked.. Anyone have any suggestions to help me eliminate this..Thanks

Hey Jim.... Usually once this stuff gets in your computer, it runs in the background just like a program does...
They are preprogramed to show ads after particular actions... Sometimes when you download a product within the fine print you will see something mentioned about additional software that comes with the installation...
Most people never realize until it is too late... If you can to associate it with a recently downloaded program, them I would suggest uninstalling it and attempting to re-install itr and read the terms and try to identify the file names of alterior programs that are included so you can find and delete them...
If you cannot figure out when you got them, if your running windows XP you can attempt a system restore to an earlier date before you to started see problems..
Other than that, you could always contact a computer service since they are generally professionals at finding these hidden programs... From what I have seen and heard, for under $100 they will come to your home and do this for you...

Clasione....wow that sound like alot of work!
 On your internet explorer "Tools" and just turn your pop-up blocker on.
I don't have any what-so ever pop up on my computer.
John- guess what that day when my computer couldn't connect to the internet is b/c of virus. Alots of people can get online, it was on the news a few days after I fix my laptop. A week later they invited the "geek squad" on the News TV to educates everyone.

also, there is a free online scan offered at trendmicro.com that will scan for viruses, trojans, and now spyware as well, and will remove what it finds if you tell it to. sometimes the registry gets so cluttered too, after long term use and "behind the scenes" installation of "third party" software when you install screensavers and such, that your best option is to back up your data and then "hose" your system and re-install or use a "restore disc" and install your operating system fresh. but as the other members have said, IE pop up blocker is ok, and firefox is hard to beat as far as eliminating pop-ups
