Hi,
Hi, my name is Jeannine. I have over five years experience teaching students diagnosed with ADHD, math difficulties, reading & writing difficulties, and severely Autistic children. I'm about to graduate from Hunter College with my Dual Master's in Special Education/Elementary Education with a concentration in Learning Disabilities.
My Undergraduate degree is in English, so that gives me more insight into the teaching of writing. I can understand how difficult writing must be for children, especially for those diagnosed with a Learning Disability.
I always try to use a multi-sensory approach that engages a child fully in a visual, tactile/kinesthetic, and auditory way. This enables me to pinpoint and utilize their learning strengths, while building up their weaknesses.
If your child is Autistic, I have some experience, but I am not currently trained in A.B.A., and I know this is one of the most popular methods. I did my student teaching with Autistic children however, and am familiar with their style of learning (which tends to be visual). And I happen to love Autistic children, working with them was one of my most rewarding teaching experiences.
My rates are very reasonable. I'm currently taking two classes and tutoring only a few students, so my schedule is somewhat flexible.
Feel free to e-mail me for my references, resume, or more information.
Enjoy your weekend!
All the best,
