Political Experience:
Bill Lindsay won a special election in March, 2001 when Steve Levy went to state
assembly, then won election again in 2001 and 2003.
Accomplishments:
Having served on several committees, once as Chairman of Veterans and Seniors
Committee, Vice-Chairman of Ad Hoc on Affordable Housing, a special committee to investigate the Suffolk County Water Authority, he has also annually served on the Capital Budget Working Group and Operating Budget Group.
He has immersed himself in issues such as affordable middle class housing, facilities for our youth, and traffic safety concerns for our citizens.
Bill Lindsay’s initiatives to secure the funding for his district’s downtown
improvements, purchasing of environmentally sensitive lands, and securing of funding for building esthetically pleasing local development entrances have fostered community pride.

Bill Lindsay is a former Business Manager for International
Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 25 with 40 years of service.
At the Suffolk County Legislature, his reputation for quiet yet forceful
demeanor and ability to listen to his constituents, helping them
maneuver the complexities of government has earned him the respect
of his peers who elected him to “Minority Leader of the Democratic Caucus”.
Bill Lindsay received “American Cancer Society’s Man of the Year” for 2000 and
“Catholic Council of Electrical Worker’s Man of the Year” in 2002.
