Red Bull New York Announces Plans for 2006 Youth Fantasy Camp at Giants Stadium
The third annual Youth Fantasy Camp will return to Giants Stadium August 21-25 and will run from 2pm to 5pm daily. After more than tripling the first-year enrollment in 2005, the camp is certain to fill up quickly again, attracting boys and girls from all over the Tri-state area who want to experience firsthand what it is like to play soccer for a professional soccer team. A powerful testimony to the camp's success is the fact that participants continue to return year after year; with almost half of the campers who had attended in 2004 returning as alumni in 2005.
"Every kid dreams of being a pro," Red Bull New York President & General Manager Alexi Lalas said. "Each camper gets the unique opportunity to live that dream while experiencing what it's like to be a player for the Red Bulls."
The camp itinerary will provide five two-hour practice sessions during the week on the field at Giants Stadium and in the practice bubble. The sessions will cover individual possession - dribbling and ball control, passing - possession and penetration, attacking skills - including the final 1/3, crossing, and finishing and goalkeeping, defending skills - including pressure, cover, and balance.
Limited to the first 80 paid registrations, each child will receive their own personalized jersey (sponsored by adidas), uniform, locker, and soccer ball. There will be special guest appearances from Red Bull New York players, staff, as well as members of the media as a part of this great week of activities. The campers will truly be able to experience the life of a professional soccer player, both on and off the field.
The 2006 Fantasy Camp experience will conclude with a reunion at Giants Stadium at a Red Bulls game in the fall where the players will be honored in a pre-game ceremony on the field.

The total cost of the camp is $425. The camp is for children age 8-16.
Feedback from parents and players at the 2005 camp:
"The kids at camp really impressed me with not only their playing skills, but with their questions and enthusiasm for the game of soccer. Fantasy camp gave these kids the opportunity to train on the same field that we do and run pretty close to the same drills. As far as I could tell, the experience was about as real as you can get without being on an MLS roster."
- Mark Lisi, Red Bull New York midfielder who visited the campers during the week
"My son, Chris, really enjoyed the summer camp!! He was so excited to come to camp every day trying to guess what surprises were planned for that day. He loved the fun drills taught by the trainers, especially the tournament on the last day of camp. Meeting the players and coaches were the highlights of his week! We look forward to seeing you at camp next summer!!"
