1. See if it's windows or unix based. If it's Windows based, ask if they are using cgi/php executable, or the PHP ISAPI module. If they are not using the ISAPI module, the colocation party are a bunch of idiots.

2. It's Xeon. ;) I know, I have a few Xeon servers. Haha
