I was out there again Tuesday checking stuff out. I owed the lady in Middle Island a visit since I couldn't find her last week so I paid her a visit. I decided that it was a little too far out from Hauppauge, plus it didn't seem quite as well-kept as a few of the other places. So I pre-applied to Fairfield On The Bay. Turns out the Great South Bay is basically the backyard of the place! Gotta catch up with the employer-to-be about when my first paycheck's gonna be, and hope that the appie goes through OK. But I'm getting closer!

Not sure yet...I wanna make it May 15, but it depends a lot on when and how much the first paycheck is. Also haven't heard yet about my pre-approval, so I'll ring up the employer-to-be and the apartment on Monday to see where things stand.

I got the call today...the application went through! I deliver the check for the deposit tomorrow, and that'll make it official. I'm pumped! :banana:

Now all I have to do is brave the 2 1/2 hour commute from PA for 6 weeks. The apartment's talking about the end of May for the move, which is nice because it's a little cheaper (no half-month rent before the full month) and it gives them time to replace the kitchen, which they say takes all of 8 hours to do. It also means I'll have an extra paycheck to work with, but half of that will probably go for fuel. I saw a BP that was selling regular for $2.99 yesterday! :eek: And a guy I was talking to saw regular for $3.10 in the Hamptons! [faint]

The job starts Monday!
