Green Acres Mall had a modest beginning as an open-air shopping center in 1956. Since then, the mall has grown along with the surrounding area’s population and now it is regarded as one of the complete shopping centers in Nassau County. The Green Acres Mall is located at the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Green Acres Road in Valley Stream, New York, just east of the Queens border.
The Green Acres Mall has over 200 specialty shops and services, making it a treasure house of a variety of fabulous merchandise. The major and popular ones in the list include Macy*s, Sears and JC Penney along with Old Navy, H&M, Victoria’s Secret, Ann Taylor Loft, The Gap, and now, the Wal-Mart superstore.
But shopping in Green Acres will be incomplete without visiting any of its many eating outlets. Wendy’s, Taco Bell, Sarku Japan, Nathan’s, Red Lobster, Friendy’s, McDonald’s, Applebee’s, Sbarro and Bronx BBQ are some restaurants worth trying.
Apart from shopping and restaurants, the mall also organizes shows and special events periodically for the customer’s enjoyment. Such events include fashion shows, clearance events, sidewalk sales, celebrity appearances and community performances. The multi-screen Green Acres Cinema hosts all the latest films.
Other facilities in the mall include ATMs, wheelchairs, stroller rentals and free parking. The mall is open on all days of the week, from 10:00 am to 9:30 pm on weekdays and 11:00 am to 7:00 pm on Sundays.
