Hi. I have this really bad- durtbag neighbor and I would like to know if anyone knows who I could call to get help. He moved in about 3 years ago. He has been in and out of jail as well as rehab at least 2 times since. He runs an illegal, off the books construction company from his house. The mess, roofing materials wood, etc, and the the noise, garbage and the traffic are unbearable. They often block the street and my driveway. Sleazy men (often that don't even speak English) hang around there too looking around lurking around in front of his house casing the neighborhood like they are up to no good. I even wonder if some of them are illegal aliens. He also rents out every inch of his one family residence. The entire upstairs, and basement to renters and I am sure every room in his house, with standing room only. This is a one family residence. He has a wife and 2 kids. It is like grand central station there 24/7. People who don't belong there coming and going constantly. Many cars and large passenger vans, but also people coming in on foot, or woman strolling baby carriages, or Latino's riding in on bicycles into the back of his house. Many cars, vans and Taxis come a calling 24/7 loudly Beeping horns to pick up the ones that have no cars living in his house. There are so many people living in there I have lost count. Many large vans, and cars parked outside there every day and night. They park all over the lawn and every inch of road space. Often the vans(owned by single men- Hmmmmmm what's up with that??? Why would a single guy own a huge van? They are obviously transporting people somewhere? The cars and vans change almost nightly. It is some kind of a housing scheme in which they go to other "safe" houses every other night but they always return to this one house within a day or two. One van even has a satelite dish on it. What's up with that???? The owners of these huge vans are mostly single men so I wonder if they are "cayotes" trafficing illegals into our country from south of the border. Or???? could they be running some kind of Taxi service illegally here on the Island.???? They have a total disregard for the neighborhood. They also do a car exchange where they share some of the cars on different shifts. The owner uses his car during the day and others use it for the night shift. To make matters worse the man is a drunk. He lost his licence(that is if he ever had one to begin with) due to many crashes(including a crash to my nephew coming out of the driveway) so, mr diert bag neighbor has no licence now. Although, I have seen him driving from time to time illegally when he thought no one was watching. I would have called the cops on him but he is always gone in a flash. Now, that''s not even the worst of it. He has harrased young teenage girls in my neighborhood. Propositioning them while riding in a van with his drunken Latino buddies. He has also beaten up his pregnant wife,(of course the dimwitted mealy mouth wife refused to press chargers on her loving husband EWWW) He also made a pass at another neighbor who was pregnant at the same time as his wife. Disgusting. He is the lowest of the low. This happened not long before he beat his wife up and the ambulance came. I heard blood curdling screams coming out of that house that Sunday morning.
I am absolutely at wits end. I have repoted all this to our Town Hall code violations bereau for the last 3 years. It has fallen on DEAF EARS THERE. What else can I do at this point. It is getting much worse by the day. I really need advice from anyone who might have any ideas on what else I can do. I see people come and go out of this house leaving notes in the mailbox. What's up with that???? And people coming and going all night long. Some come and stay, while others come, get their who knows what, and then leave within a few minutes. I believe that some of these people are illegal immigrants. and I seriously believe that there is drug activity going on there from all the sighns and symptoms I have seen go on there. I don't want a drive by shooting next. There are many families with young children here and I am afraid for them all. Please advise...does the 1st precinct-or the T.O.B. in Suffolk county have some kind of community protection beareau that assists in situations of this kind with very suspicious activity coming out of a one family residence?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Please help!
Thank you........

Hey, what's up native...
Sounds like you got a real situation going on there....
By the sounds of it, I'd bet the cops allready know about that house and it really sucks that nothing has been done about it yet.....
Any chance that you know if they own it?
Or are they renting....?
I've never delt with that type of situation, so I don't have much advise...
There obviously in violation for the number of "guests"
or "live in roomates"..
Call the presinct and ask to talk to a narcotics detective... give them the address and tell them that there is an enormouse amount of traffic comming in and out all night long..
Just keep complaining....
Get other naibors involved... Be persistent... The squeeky wheel gets the oil... http://longislandexchange.infopop.cc/smiles/14

Hi. Thanks so much for your reply. Yes, it has been a hell on Earth having these people as neighbors. Nightmarish to say the least. It causes great stress, and hasn't exactly been good for my marriage either. I am afraid to even leave my house to go on vacation for fear of being robbed by them or the riff raff that they encourage around their house. The Town code people are completely useless in enforcing our LAWS. I DON'T KNOW WHY WE EVEN KEEP THOSE AGENCIES GOING.? Anyhow, that was a very good idea about talking to a detective. I was considering it but had always thought that you needed something concrete to tell them. I guess suspicious activity should be concrete enough, right.? I hope and pray that at least our law enforcement might be able to do something???? What should I tell him????Are their any buzz words in particular that might get their attention.? P'S' Thanks for your help. When did this site get up and running? I was just surfing the web looking for some help on these issues and saw your link. Anyhow, glad I found you guys. Take care.....N.N.

I guess suspicious activity should be concrete enough, right.?
---> Well - There always interested in tips on things like that - it's just that they get so many bogus tips.... Just tell them whats been going on with all the traffic and everything... Atleast if they have heard anything about that house before, this will confirm it... If not - they may just take a peek anyway.... There always looking for information, so if there not too busy, I'm sure they'll check it out...
What should I tell him????Are their any buzz words in particular that might get their attention.?
----> I'm going to leave that to you.... I don't want to contribute to any bends in the truth.... Just tell them about the lall noght traffic - cars visiting and adults on bicycles coming and going for 5 minits... That shoud get there attention.

Thanks for the info. I sent out a letter yesterday to them. There is just so much information that I needed to get across so it needed to go down in writing first. So they should have it by now. Let the games begin. LOL I will follow up with a phone call soon. I told evrything about the blatently illegal activities going on in this house. When I said buzz words, I meant only "words" that might get there attention to this problem of possible drug activity. I thought maybe their were some fancy police terms I could use to help communicate to them about the severity of this. I would never bend the truth in a situation like this. It's just that I have been so frustrated trying to get our authorities to actually do something about it. I have been trying for over 3 years with the Town of Babylon's code enforcement beareau. It falls on deaf ears there. They do absolutely NOTHING when complaints are made. They don't deserve a salary. My other"good" neighbor lodged a complaint to their office about the same house. The code enforcement lady who answers the phone either outs you off, or questions your integrity and harrases you the caller for reporting crimes. It is an outrage. So, I am hoping and praying that the Suffolk county PD detectives will be the ones to finally, get this taken care of once and for all. It's being handed to them on a silver platter and I am hoping they will take action now. Suffolk county is being degraded by all the corruption and non enforcement of our laws. Life here in the US will soon be unrecognisable as our country anymore if this corruption continues to be "tolerated". Anyhow, thanks again. Let me know if their are any other avenues that I can explore? By for now...NN

I know what you mean by those lazy enforcement people....There back office cival service workers that want to sit there and drink coffie all day and lock the door at 4:45 (15 minits early) Every time you call - it's like there boss telling them to get up and do some work... They just don't want to hear it... http://longislandexchange.infopop.cc/smiles/14
I'm sure the suffolk police will do something.... I'm just not to sure if you'll hear back???
You could always contact your congressman... You know those papers that are always coming in the mail around election time... "Your Local Congressman....
May be worth a shot if you dont see any action on this last attempt....

Hi. You are right. Those Town Code Dept people are do -nothings. A total waste of our Tax dollars. Writing the congressmen is a very good idea. It's time for them to start taking action and forcing the Towns to deliver the services that we pay them for. We are paying for all this big government and they are useless agency's. There are so many farce agecies in our "over inflated" Government now. They even have administive assistants to the administrators. It's just ridiculous and costing Taxpayers big money. Time for them to trim the fat.

Hi. Thanks for your reply. This dirt bag neighbor is really hard to live near. The cars are all over the place. I can barely get in and out of my own driveway. Most of those cars don't even belong there cause they are renting illegally. And some of them of course are there to buy drugs. The cars coming in and out of this house 24/7 , making noise, beeping etc is causing so much stress. It is a real bad situation. I have contacted the detective dept at the first precinct so far. Nothing has happened yet but I guess these things take time. ?? Every day seems like a year living by this obnoxious and selfish neighbor. He is the epitomy of a bad neighbor. I hope they catch him for his illegal activities and lock him up once and for all.

Hi,
Just a bit of advise.
Every time you speak to somebody on this complaint,
Document names dates times & a brief topic of what you spoke about.
Then after you get no results, you will be able to rattle off all those names dates & times to a supervisor.
I have used this & when they see that you have
all your material documented, they tend to respond, they would rather not make your list.
IT WORKS

Definetly a great suggestion - That does work....They don't want to make that list and they know your serious about getting the situation resolved.
