HARBOR. One peninsula east of Port Washington, Hempstead Harbor leads to Glen
Cove, Sea Cliff and Roslyn on the east bank, with Sands Point and Port Washington

restaurants. Two major yacht clubs and a handful of marinas serve the harbor.

OYSTER BAY/COLD SPRING HARBOR. These two adjoining harbors surround
the Cove Neck peninsula, site of the home of President Theodore Roosevelt. The
village of Oyster Bay sits at the head of Oyster Bay Harbor. Cold Spring Harbor
leads to the residential community of Laurel Hollow on the Nassau side and the
village of Cold Spring Harbor just across the Suffolk line. This village, once
a famed whaling port, offers quaint shops and a renowned whaling museum.
