LONG ISLAND MISSING CHILDREN

Could you have seen one of these children today?

797,500 were missing, abducted, were thrown away or had run away in the United States, way back in 1999. There has not been a survey since then, but there are pictures of over 100 kids from or in New York State that need to return to their families and home, even as you read this. Children deserve better and you can help put them back in the lap of security.

There is a toll-free number Hotline:1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678) that you can use to provide any information that could help return a lost child to his or her loved ones, or to help with the best rehabilitation possible. You can also send your information through an email. Children go missing from school, their homes and even from crowded public places. Some may wander off in a burst or anger, only to feel desolate and want to return a short while later.

Victims of abuse are the saddest cases and we must all be vigilant to protect each and every one of them as best as we can.

It is easy to get involved and to play major and continuing roles in keeping children safe from harm and to help return the ones that have strayed or been abducted, back safe to the adults responsible for their care. You can help raise awareness of this terrible social problem and engage your community in assertive and preventive action. However, even a quick reported sighting will go a long way and help save innocent and precious lives, if you would just click on the link below and take a look at pictures and descriptions of kids missing and lost right now, right here in our community: www.missingkids.com

Child safety is a prime concern for all of us at the Long Island Exchange. Kids of all ages are at risk and need reassurance and love at all times. Adults can make mistakes and many of us may lack some essential parenting skills. A crisis of a missing child can turn a new and a secure page and caring observation easily detects and helps stop potential and actual abuse. Open and continuous communication about all issues related to children is the best route to our collective security.

May you be blessed a thousand times and again for your most diligent help to keep our State and Nation's children safe from harm. Please be a regular visitor at www.missingkids.com
