Canucks rally in 3rd, beat Avalanche 5-2 (AP)

The Vancouver Canucks showed some rust early, then their rest paid off in the third period. Defenseman Christian Ehrhoff's second goal pulled Vancouver even 5:12 into the third period, and Henrik Sedin netted the go-ahead tally less than four minutes later as the Canucks rallied late to beat the Colorado Avalanche 5-2 on Friday night.

Scott Clemmensen kept the Florida Panthers in the game until the rest of his teammates got their act together. Bryan McCabe's goal 40 seconds into overtime gave Florida a 2-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Friday night. Clemmensen made 39 saves for the Panthers, who won for the fourth time in five games to reach .500 (9-9-2).

NHL suspends Stars F Neal for 2 games (AP) The NHL has suspended Dallas Stars forward James Neal two games for a boarding infraction that injured the Columbus Blue Jackets' Derek Dorsett. The NHL announced the discipline on Friday. Neal will miss games against New Jersey on Saturday and Carolina on Monday. Neal also will forfeit $8,515 in salary, with the money going to the Players'......


Hurricanes send D Rodney back to minors (AP) The Carolina Hurricanes sent defenseman Bryan Rodney back to their AHL affiliate in Albany. The team made the move Friday after bringing him up Nov. 11. Rodney had two assists in five games and averaged nearly 18 minutes of ice time during his first stint with the team this season. The Hurricanes host Tampa Bay on Saturday.


Chicago scores 5 in 2nd, rips Flames 7-1 (AP)
