Transit lounge with a view
The flight path in to the Park suits us just fine, for even rookie fliers in our ranks can spot the Cold Spring Harbor from our standard trans-continental altitude. We need waste little energy as even a near-vertical descent suffices to get us within sight of the many pads that await us in the trees of the Park. It sure beats JFK and La Guardia in looks, if you do not mind our saying so, and the down-wood location means that there is but the shortest of commutes before we hop in to pre-fabricated nests after long and tiring flights.
The Cold Spring Harbor State Park is no monastery, let us tell you! A dance bar, massage and all-the-way, this joint has it all! This works just fine for the Executive types in our groups and for the old and bored as well. Consider that we discriminate against no personal preference, before you turn up your starchy and repressed noses! We can share some exciting numbers to let down your plumage, if you mail us from a site with child locks. Birder paparazzi are an eternal problem, especially with the latest optical zoom and listening devices, but we know of some spots in the phallic oaks where you can have a ball, out of tabloid reach.
Let us not get carried away, for as always there are downsides. Policing is staffed worse than the customs and immigration counters, and the red-tailed hawks rule as though each is a Gotti in his own bloody right! The food-chain story is fine as long as you are not the sushi of the day! These gigantic and rowdy devils plunder and pillage at will: is this any way to attract tourist traffic, for God's sake? The danger continues even after the buglers have sounded repose for the night, for great horned owls rule the forest by night. Terrorism is an international issue, but our Security Council seems no better than yours!

Quality matters more for us than size. The 40 acres of the Cold Spring Harbor State Park as you humans call it, does nicely for us jet-set type songbirds with residences both near the Arctic and South America.
The food courts of the Cold Spring Harbor State Park are a culinary delight. The vegetarian menus are thoughtful. Many of our young have never seen nuts of the shapes and colors in the cold and barren ex-Soviet stretches that we find in your country and the less spiritual and health inclined of our communities love the fresh catch that crawls around every morning, US Eastern Time.
There is nothing like a fashion show to jazz up a transit halt. Our entourage includes the designers we trust, but the ramps, lights and sets of the Cold Spring Harbor State Park are great for private and sensual viewing. We have learnt through generations of experience how to use shades of green and brown for a backdrop, and to show combinations of brilliant colors to best effect. There are wardrobes-full of ensembles that we put on just in this Park and everyone can come in and ogle all day for free. Going by the name you have for us, it appears you dig our Rap, and we have free concerts of those all the time!
