Call (631) 940-3825 now to reserve dates (Central Islip, N.Y., Feb. 15, 2005) – The Long Island Ducks and Grip N’ Rip Sports Academy today announced the dates for three youth baseball clinics at Citibank Park this summer. Instructional clinics will be held for boys and girls ages 7-14 in July and August. Players of all abilities are welcome and interested parties are encouraged to sign up early due to limited availability. Participants will learn the fundamentals of baseball while working with Long Island Ducks players at Citibank Park during the two-day clinics. Kids will benefit from the extensive training experience of the Ducks coaching staff as they participate in two morning interactive instructional sessions centered on the fundamentals of baseball and how to play like a pro. Kids participating will begin each day promptly at 9:00 a.m., when they will undergo stretching exercises similar to those used by Ducks' players in pregame warm-ups. Throughout the morning, they will be taught the fundamentals of the game, and the important aspects of playing each position. The clinics will culminate with a real game at Citibank Park. All participants will be grouped together according to age and ability. When the morning ends, kids will break for lunch with Long Island Ducks players and (on the last day) receive an exclusive Ducks Clinic jersey and equipment bag, courtesy of the Ducks. Dates and times for the clinics are as follows: Session One: Friday, July 8 and Saturday, July 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Session Two: Friday, July 29 and Saturday, July 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Session Three: Friday, August 12 and Saturday, August 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Long Island Ducks, 2004 Atlantic League champions, play their home games at Citibank Park and are entering their sixth season of play in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball.
