A New Free Ipod Radio Station Available To Long Island Residents

The Long Island Podcast Network is a free weekly radio show available to residents of Nassau and Suffolk counties who can listen to new music and bands from Long Island. The shows are available at http://www.longislandpodcast.biz and provide Apple Ipod owners and people with home computers fresh new music while opening an opportunity for Long Island songwriters to get their music out to the local public. Long Island residents wishing to add this free music to their ipods can simply go to www.LongIslandPodcast.biz and subscribe to the shows. They can also listen directly on their computers. Shows are hosted by professionals who introduce the artists. “There is a need for local musicians to get their music to the public without waiting for a record deal.“, said show producer Bruce Chambers “Our podcast shows help unsigned musicians get radio play instantly while providing the public with new music.”

The Long Island Podcast Network produces brand new shows every week and announces gigs of local bands and where their music can be purchased or downloaded. Bruce C hosts the show with various co-hosts who review the music on the air. “We accept all types of music and have already received over 3,200 weekly subscribers to the shows in our first four weeks since December 18, 2005”, said Bruce C. “We have also received over 400 submissions from bands all over Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, and Manhattan. We listen to all the music we receive.”

The Long Island Podcast Network will also be expanding to the Long Island Podcast Sports Network in February 2006. Each show on the podcast network will be produced weekly or bi-weekly. The mission of the Long Island Podcast Network is to provide all shows for free to the public and never to charge them for subscribing or downloading material. They will also be podcasting live some of the highlights of the 2006 Levittown Central Little League.

Starting in Spring 2006, the Long Island Podcast Network will be planning a real estate show where Long Island residents can tune into real estate properties available on the market and a travel show which will highlight new hotspots for vacations in and out of Long Island.
