Audio Feed of LIPA Press Conferences Now Available on the Web Uniondale, NY—March 7, 2006— Attending a Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) press conference or other LIPA special event may not always be practical. In an effort to expand public access to LIPA events, LIPA has begun posting audio recordings of its press conferences and other special events on its Web site, www.lipower.org. “I invite everyone to take advantage of this new feature, said LIPA Chairman Richard M. Kessel. “This Web cast affords Long Islanders an opportunity to get the latest LIPA news first-hand.” MP3 recordings of press conferences will generally be available an hour after the press conference or special event has concluded. The recordings can be found in the News Center section of LIPA’s Web site. Press conference recordings are broken into two parts. The first part will contain the main segment of the new conference, and the second part will contain the question and answer session where applicable. To find out more about other specials features on LIPA’s Web site please visit www.lipower.org. LIPA, a non-profit municipal electric system, owns the retail electric Transmission and Distribution System (T&D) on Long Island and provides electric service to over 1.1 million customers in Nassau and Suffolk counties and the Rockaway Peninsula in Queens.
