FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES OF THE NEW YORK TRI-STATE AREA AWARDS $27,000 TO THE EDUCATION AND ASSITANCE CORPORATION The Education and Assistance Corporation strives to provide services to more than 50,000 people each year throughout the metropolitan area. One element of their program is the Suffolk County Child Advocacy Center, which provides a safe, neutral, child-oriented environment for the coordinated investigation of physical and sexual abuse among children. Funding from the RMHC-NYTSA will be used by the Education and Assistance Corporation to update the medical equipment used to provide evidence of bruising, scaring and other injuries. This new equipment will provide more efficient case investigations and increased offender prosecution. “We are so excited about all of the worthwhile programs that we are able to fund this year,” said Gerald McCoy, RMHC President of the New York Tri-State Area. “It’s wonderful to partner with not-for-profit organizations working to better the community and to support programs that benefit children. Through RMHC, McDonald’s is able to fulfill its commitment to lending a helping hand to aid and strengthen the communities that our restaurants serve.” Organizations are welcome to submit proposals to receive grants from RMHC-NYTSA.
