Sound crack ABA Top 16 Power Rankings, Cory Underwood selected as #14 in Pro Basketball News Top 20 of all minor league players While we’re on the subject of lists, the Strong Island Sound’s Cory Underwood was rated number 14 in Pro Basketball News’ Top 20 Minor League Players. This list includes not only ABA players, but CBA and NBDL players as well. Cory was the fourth ABA player picked, behind #7 Sun Yue (Beijing Aoshen), #10 Lawrence Moten (Maryland), and #12 Armon Gilliam (Pittsburgh). This is no small feat considering Moten and Gilliam are former NBA players. Here are the details from the column: “14. Cory Underwood, 6-10, PF, (Strong Island Sound - ABA) Has been a dominant force inside since coming over from Poland a few weeks ago. Draws fouls and is automatic from the free-throw line. Tenacious rebounder.” Cory Underwood and the rest of the Strong Island Sound are going for their third consecutive win this Saturday January 28th 7 p.m. at St. Joseph’s College versus the Montreal Matrix.
