Bayshore, N.Y. - Members of the Strong Island Sound visited Southside Hospital in Bayshore on Wednesday December 21, 2005. We were honored to be able to spend a little time with the staff and patients in the Pediatric Unit and Rehab Unit. With the Holiday season here, we were in the mood to give. We handed out team-signed red, white, and blue ABA basketballs and team t-shirts.
We would like to thank the staff and patients at Southside Hospital for allowing us to be part of your holiday. The Strong Island Sound is a brand new professional basketball team playing on Long Island in the new version of the ABA , red white and blue basketball and all. The original ABA had a long tradition on Long Island and we hope to continue that with our team. We are looking to promote games with a family-friendly and affordable atmosphere. We are hoping to have success with the sport of basketball similar to what the Long Island Ducks have had with baseball.
