A Tribute to Ginny
Ginny’s unique talents in locating sick and injured cats had rendered her numerous appearances in CNN, Animal Planet and major news. Her rescue stories were illustrated by two national best selling books: The Dog who Rescues Cats and the Blessing of the Animals. August 25th 2005 was a sad day for many, marked by the death of Ginny, the beloved pet of her owner Philip Gonzalez as well as the beloved friend of hundreds of cats and humans alike. Recognized for her unique love of felines, Ginny devoted her life to rescuing countless cats and kittens around her Long Island home and the surrounding region. Although she experienced a long and eventful life of seventeen years, she will be sadly missed by those she loved and cared for as well as by those who loved and cared for her in return.

With an uncanny ability to locate sick and injured cats, Ginny had rescued over 900 cats in her entire life. Everyday in the past 16 years, Ginny had her caretaker Philip Gonzalez fed and provided medical care to hundreds of stray cats in Long Beach, New York.
A Memorial service was held for Ginny on August 27, 2005 at the Regency Forest Pet Memorial Park where she was surrounded by friends, family and a blanket of rose petals and laid to her final rest in the Kitty Korner section of the park, where she can be among the cats she loved for all eternity.
