“The anticipation and excitement were palpable in the garden at the Chateau Briand. The outdoor setting on a beautiful spring evening was perfect for the announcement of this year’s Fight for Charity boxers. The boxers are the key to the success of our main event. Their dedication to train and raise funds will help us reach our charity fundraising goal of $200,000. We welcome our boxers and thank our sponsors and fans for their support,” said Matt Silver, Long Island Fight for Charity Co-Founder.

The 10th Long Island Fight for Charity at the Long Island Hilton will be held on Monday, November 25 and is expected to attract more than 1,200 people and raise more than $200,000 for charity. The main event is expected to sell out weeks in advance. The reception was the final call for men and women to get involved in this unique charity fundraising and marketing experience that benefits the Long Island Community Chest, a nonprofit group that provides immediate short-term financial support to individuals and families in need on Long Island. Funds will also be provided to Family Residences and Essential Enterprises (FREE), which offers services to people with mental illness, brain injuries and developmental disabilities, as well as The Genesis School, a Plainview organization that works with children who have autism.

Local businesses and professional firms have stepped forward to sponsor the Fight for Charity. They include event sponsors: Alure Home Improvements; Presenting Sponsor Caring People; Judges Sponsor Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo & Terrana; and Round Card Sponsors Resorts World and Genser Dubow Genser & Cona, LLP. Additional sponsors are PricewaterhouseCoopers, Farrell Fritz PC, Sir Speedy of Westbury, Melville and Hauppauge, Chateau Briand, and Carlyle On The Green.

This reception was one of several Fight for Charity events our organization and the boxers will host between now and the main event. We welcome our boxers and thank Victor Scotto and Scotto Brothers for hosting this event,” said Jaime Austin, Long Island Fight for Charity Co-Founder.
