NY Islanders Team Up With Bethpage Federal Credit Union
Islanders and Bethpage FCU seek to strengthen Long Island community
(Uniondale, N.Y.) The New York Islanders announced today the renewal of Bethpage Federal Credit Union as a team sponsor. Bethpage Federal Credit Union will again present a number of team community initiatives including the Islanders Kids Club, the Islanders Community Events (I.C.E.) Tour and Islanders at School Program.
“Bethpage serves the Long Island community through financial support of charities, community sponsorships, media awareness and volunteerism with an emphasis on families through its community program known as the Heart of Bethpage,” said Linda Armyn, Bethpage Federal Credit Union Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Government Affairs. “That’s why partnering with the Islanders to sponsor community-focused events and kids programs made perfect sense for us. We are both organizations that strive to make the Island a better place to live, work and play.”
The 2010-11 season will mark the fourth consecutive year that the Islanders Kids Club is presented by Bethpage Federal Credit Union and the third year in a row that they will partner with the I.C.E. Tour. Bethpage Federal Credit Union has also sponsored the Islanders at School Program since it was launched in 2009.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to continue to take our partnership with Bethpage Federal Credit Union to the grassroots level and give back to the Long Island community as a team,” said Justin Johnson, Islanders Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships & Executive Suites. “As the sole professional sports franchise on Long Island, we have a responsibility to give back to our local neighborhoods. We relish that opportunity, and by teaming with a great partner like Bethpage, we are able to expand our community efforts exponentially.”
The Islanders at School Program is a free program designed to aid New York State Standards and Benchmarks for teachers of grades 3 to 6 in Queens, Brooklyn, Nassau and Suffolk counties. The New York Islanders I.C.E. Tour is an interactive NHL theme park geared towards the younger fan and visits local schools, charity events and similar functions throughout the year. The New York Islanders Kids Club is for fans 14 and younger who are eager to receive New York Islanders information, merchandise, team newsletters, discounts on game tickets and access to special events.
The Islanders Community Events Tour, Islanders Kids Club, Islanders at School, Literacy Day and the rest of the Islanders grassroots events take place throughout the calendar year. For more information on these events and how to bring them to your neighborhood, please visit www.islanders.nhl.com.
