LONG ISLAND PRESS RELEASES
For Immediate Release: September 30, 2006
Long Island’s Own Buzz Band Tauk
Oyster Bay, NY (September 27th, 2006) It was announced today that Long Island’s own buzz band Tauk (http://www.myspace.com/tauk) will be the subject of a special interview and live performance piece for the FUSE music television network ( http://www.fuse.tv) which is airing at FUSE On Demand “Undiscovered” starting October 2nd and running till November 23rd.
This will be the inaugural segment of a new “On Demand: Undiscovered” program at the network. “We’re extremely excited to be working with FUSE” said Tauk Lead singer Alessandro Zanelli. He continued, “They have really built a reputation of getting behind up and coming acts, and we are pleased to add to the tradition”. The content was originally filmed on location Saturday July 29th during their show at The Aqua Lounge in Glen Cove. A member of Tauk’s management team added “Time and time again FUSE is proving they are more about the music than any other current “music” television station, and their commitment to helping nurture young talent is quickly becoming a huge part of their rise to success in the market”.
The Fuse TV airing is just another step up the ladder for the group as Tauk continues to be one of the most played, talked about and written about bands of the year. They have already gained airplay on NYC’s Q104.3, Long Island’s 102.3 WBAB, 98.5 The Bone and 107.1 WLIR and are currently in rotation on many college stations including WRHU Hofstra and WUSB Stony Brook. They were recently covered in a “With The Band” feature for Newsday and they graced the front page of Good Times Magazine as the “Local Spotlight” story. These articles serve as the highlights of their press coverage, but are in addition to the many overwhelmingly positive webzine and internet site reviews they also recieved in the past few months. Their summer tour covered almost 20 shows with spotlight dates on Long Island opening for Ants Marching at The Crazy Donkey and opening for Glass Houses at Eisenhower Park, gigs at The Living Room Lounge in Brooklyn and at Rye Playland in Upstate NY and several industry showcases at The Knitting Factory, Pianos and The Lions Den in NYC. The band will be back on tour this Fall, and will be working on a new album for release in 07′.

ABOUT LEN LEEDS
http://www.lenleeds.com
========================
Len Leeds is one of the most highly-regarded and successful employment attorneys in the New York metropolitan area, a man who has spent his career passionately defending the dreams of others; he was the attorney who initiated the Anna Nicole Smith lawsuit for example. Though decades before he got involved in helping others realize their dreams, he realized he had a dream and passion of his own…to perform. Perhaps it was during his childhood when he used to accompany the jukeboxes in his parent’s hotel. Or maybe it was years later when friends and family saw that his presence behind a microphone was every bit as commanding as his presence in court.
As a founder and senior partner at Leeds Morelli & Brown, Len specializes in cases involving workplace discrimination, civil rights, sexual harassment, and unfair dismissals. He has made a career out of breaking new ground, out of showing what happens when a person pushes the envelope. Len’s debut album, “Love Will See Us Through” is the result of the same passion and drive that is Len’s signature style, and has won him many a groundbreaking civil rights case. It is the realization of a dream that has been carefully nurtured for years and as you’re bound to hear, this is one dream that is even more impressive as reality. What comes through over the stellar orchestrations is Len’s voice—both literally and figuratively. But that will become clear from the first bar as you hear Len wrap his impressive vocals around classic standards, lending them a whole new persona. Observe how his vocal “instrument” effortlessly mingles with, yet never overpowers—the lush arrangements. And witness (no pun intended) how Len¹s elocutionary training —so vital to his success in the courtroom – has given him a special appreciation for a lyric–and the ability to project that appreciation. It’s this kind of talent that is usually used in describing Sinatra, Streisand, and too few others..the ability to revel in the synergy of words and music the “soul” of a song. Len recently met with composer/lyricist Ervin Drake (vice chairman of the Songwriters Hall Of Fame who wrote among many other standards “It Was a Very Good Year” recorded by Frank Sinatra) and the two will be collaborating on some songs together, most specifically a new tune Ervin wrote called “Liberal”. Len’s musical career is certainly gaining steam; so far 2006 has seen him opening for the likes of Marilyn Michaels, Darlene Love, Leslie Uggams and doing a special showcase at Don’t Tell Mama’s in NYC. This Fall he will be performing with Tony Orlando in October and with another “very well known” singer for a special benefit for St Mary’s Hospital in December, both at Tilles Center at CW Post.
Len has also joined the honorary advisory board of the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program, located at Adelphi University, in Garden City, New York. In addition to his duties as an advisory board member, Mr. Leeds has recently written a song “Love Will See Us Through” specifically dedicated to the cause; the song has also been adopted as a theme song for Cancer Care and many other Breast Cancer awareness groups across the US. “Love Will See Us Through” (which has lyrics written by Len and music written by Fran Roach) was inspired by a former client stricken with breast cancer. Proceeds from the sale of his album will go to several of the leading organizations working to stop this terrible disease, including Family Service League, 1 in 9, and The American Cancer Society.
His is a voice that most definitely deserves a hearing. Whether you know him as counsel or a crooner, Len proves beyond a reasonable doubt that when it comes to delivering a total and truly passionate performance, he is guilty as charged.

Bringing light to all gynecologic cancers
On behalf of Long Island OCEANS, we are asking for your support of our 2nd Annual Wave of Hope Gala which will be held on Nov.2, 2006 at the beautiful Giorgios Restaurant and Catering overlooking the Fox Hill Golf Course in Baiting Hollow, N.Y.
Every 7 minutes a woman is diagnosed with a gynecologic cancer. To date; There is no test available to detect ovarian cancer; therefore, diagnosis is usually made at a very advanced stage when the 5-year survival rate is only about 25%. This is unacceptable! Together with the medical community, Long Island OCEANS is committed to finding an early detection test.
Long Island OCEANS is proud to announce the donation of $25,000 to several medical research projects right here on Long Island from the proceeds from our first annual gala. Together we are making waves!
Long Island OCEANS is a grassroots support and advocacy organization, which was established in 2004. It is comprised of women living with ovarian and gynecologic cancers. Our mission is to promote awareness through education, advocacy and support to the women of our community. We are committed to increasing awareness in order to save lives.
OVARIAN CANCER does not discriminate. It strikes tens of thousands of women every year regardless of race or age and will claim over 16,000 women this year; more deaths than all other gynecologic cancers combined. Early detection testing is needed to improve the cure rate.
This is where we need your help. We are seeking donations for our Chinese, Silent and Live Auctions. These can be in the form of monetary donations, goods, jewelry, vacations, golf or fishing outings, ball games, dinners, shows, gift certificates or any service you are able to donate. Your generous donation will be acknowledged in our Gala Program. Attached, please find the information about Corporate Sponsorships and Underwriting Opportunities, which are available.
We ask you to help us raise awareness of this deadly disease. An early detection test is essential. Please join us in our fight to save our mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts and friends from this deadly diagnosis.

Energy Solutions for Commercial Customers
King Kullen Grocery Company Will Cut Energy Consumption by 12,000,000 Kilowatt-Hours Electricity Annually
Bellmore, NY-September 13, 2006-Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) Chairman Richard M. Kessel, today announced the official launch of LIPA’s Retrofit Energy and Capacity Program (RECAP). The RECAP program is designed to reduce Long Island’s electric consumption by 75 megawatts (MW) by assisting LIPA’s commercial customers in finding valuable energy solutions that reduces electricity consumption, saves the environment and lowers their electric bills.
RECAP is a unique three-way partnership between LIPA, LIPA’s commercial customers and several LIPA-selected energy service companies (ESCO’S). The RECAP program is designed to assist commercial customers, multi-family buildings of four or more apartments and publicly owned facilities. The RECAP partnership identifies long term energy reduction opportunities through the use of more energy efficient heating and air conditioning technologies, lighting systems, lighting controls, refrigeration upgrades, pumps and motor drives and energy management systems that provide significant energy and dollar savings.
“Long Island’s business community is a highly competitive marketplace,” said LIPA Chairman Richard M. Kessel. “By becoming more energy efficient with the assistance of LIPA’s RECAP program local businesses can sharpen their competitive edge, enhance their bottom line and help reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.”
According to Mr. Kessel, “LIPA is targeting numerous businesses on Long Island to become part of LIPA’s RECAP program, they can lower their bills and electric usage at the same time.”
Businesses such as the King Kullen Grocery Company can certainly benefit from this program by having LIPA help offset the cost to retrofit their facilities to hold down their energy costs, provide better lighting and be more energy efficient.
King Kullen, headquartered in Bethpage has already embarked on a comprehensive lighting upgrade project as a result of participating in LIPA’s RECAP program. The project covers 45 store locations, and is expected to reduce energy consumption by over 12,000,000 kilowatt-hours annually. The energy savings from this project alone is enough to power about 1200 average sized Long Island homes. To date, RECAP projects at 10 King Kullen stores have been completed with seven more currently in progress. The remaining stores are scheduled to be completed by January of 2007.
The King Kullen stores will be installing new lighting that utilizes high-efficiency fluorescent technology, coupled with improved lighting controls. In addition to energy savings and lowered maintenance costs, the high-efficiency lighting delivers excellent color rendering, high uniformity and low glare. Other energy efficient technologies will also be integrated.
“LIPA’s RECAP program is providing a financial incentive,” said King Kullen’s Vice President Tom Cullen. “The lighting project is an ideal opportunity to reduce our operating costs, update the store’s appearance with high quality lighting, and help the environment by reducing energy consumption. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
In October of 2003, LIPA issued an RFP seeking proposals that would help LIPA achieve up to 75 MWs of energy and capacity savings through long-term energy efficiency initiatives. Through the RFP process, five energy service companies (ESCO’s) were approved. The companies selected include: Lockheed Martin/Aspen Systems, Custom Energy, Ameresco, CSG Services, Inc., and Johnson Controls. The energy efficiency programs proposed by these six companies will collectively achieve about 75 MWs of long-term energy savings.
How Does RECAP Work?
* The ESCO will evaluate facilities and make recommendations for upgrades and improvements.
* The customer and the ESCO will choose the appropriate equipment.
* The ESCO handles LIPA approval of the project.
* LIPA approves the project and provides an incentive to the ESCO to help offset the cost of the project.
* Upon approval, the ESCO will install new energy-efficient measures.
What Energy-Saving measures are covered?
* Lighting upgrades (retrofit and new fixtures)
* Lighting controls.
* Roof-top HVAC units.
* Refrigeration upgrades.
* Motors and VFD’s (Variable frequency drives)
* Energy management systems.
“Reducing wasteful energy consumption is good for our bottom line, good for the environment, and good for our Country because it reduces our dependence on imported fossil fuels”, said Gordian Raacke, executive director of Renewable Energy Long Island (RELI), the region’s clean energy advocacy organization. “LIPA’s innovative approach to contract with the private sector to achieve a large chunk of energy savings with state-of-the-art energy efficiency technologies is a major milestone on the path towards an energy efficient economy.”
“CSG looks forward to working with LIPA and the small business community on Long Island to address the critical energy needs of Long Island. This means helping Long Island business customers be more productive, more energy independent, and environmentally responsible through energy efficiency. We congratulate LIPA for crafting a plan to meet the energy needs of Long Island through its RECAP program, developed under the Clean Energy Initiative,” Stephen Cowell, CEO of CSG.
“Lockheed Martin/Aspen Systems applauds LIPA’s initiatives in the Clean Energy area, and particularly its innovative RECAP program. Aspen believes RECAP will prove a very positive investment for LIPA and a benefit for LIPA’s customers. Aspen is proud to be a partner with LIPA in this initiative,” Patrick McCarthy, Vice President.
“The RECAP program provides a unique opportunity for Long Island businesses to upgrade their facilities, thereby improving the community, and Ameresco is excited to be a part of it,” said George P. Sakellaris, President, Ameresco.
“Congratulations to LIPA for putting together a timely and forward thinking initiative that will bring great benefit to their customers,” stated Dale Hahs, president of Custom Energy. “We’re pleased to be able to participate with the residents of Long Island with reducing their energy costs while providing solutions that will enhance their facilities and the environment for years to come. Programs like these act as a catalyst allowing us to shore up failing facility infrastructures and strengthen local economies while becoming ever more energy efficient and better stewards of our natural resources.”
“Local business is the backbone of Long Island’s economy, and one of the most important factors in achieving success in maintaining the bottom line. LIPA’s RECAP program is specifically designed to help Long Island business make energy efficient improvements that can save real dollars and lower their costs,” concluded Mr. Kessel.
To learn more about the RECAP program and other LIPA conservation programs for both commercial and residential customers, visit LIPA’s Web site at www.lipower.org

Keystone Realty USA, New York’s 100% payout firm has announced their new partnership agreement with Long Island Exchange. Long Island Exchange is a leading Internet based newspaper and publication that serves 100,000 unique users and generates nearly 2 million page views per month. Long Island Exchange is a leading Internet company and online marketer, which value this partnership agreement at 400 dollars per month per Keystone agent. This number is based on the current web traffic and what similar websites and publications charge for their services. At 160 agents this equates to thousands of dollars per month in FREE Online marketing.
The deal, which gives Long Island Exchange (http://www.longislandexchange.com/) responsibility for delivering all Keystone Real Estate leads from the site, follows closely on the heels of a similar partnership struck between Yahoo! and Prudential Realty. This deal gives Keystone’s agents and listings exclusive advertising and placement on Long Island Exchange. No other Realtor in New York can compete with Keystone in this agreement, due to the exclusive relationship. This gives a tremendous value to the Keystone agent and saves them money on the advertising of there listings. Also it allows the Keystone agent to sell more of their own listings which double their Real Estate commission and it gives them more leads to build there business.
The complete terms of the deal are undisclosed, but Keystone Realty USA continues to find new ways of creating headaches for other Real Estate brokers all over Long Island and Queens. The company has signed on over 160 agents in just a few years, and has seen tremendous growth in 2005 and 2006. Branch offices have opened in Forest Hill Queens and Keystone is very excited about the launching of their new Flagship Office in East Northport. This deal signed with Long Island Exchange has given Keystone a tremendous lead base to help these branch offices and agents succeed. Keystone is currently looking for new agents to work in these branches on a full-time or part-time basis. All licensed Realtors that need leads or want a higher payout are welcome at Keystone, but space is limited in the East Northport branch, so call today!
Keystone Realty USA is also proud to announce the signing of a relationship with the renowned Real Estate trainer Debra Asher. Her company Pro Caliber has helped thousands of real estate agents all over Long Island and Queens make a lot of money in selling Real Estate. Keystone has implemented a FREE monthly training program with Debra and Keystone agents. Along with the comprehensive, current Real Estate training available on the Keystone website and their relationship with Debra Asher, Keystone maintains that their agents are the most well trained in the industry as well as the most highly compensated.
Keystone Realty USA also launches their new website. The new design has led to the website being voted the number 1 realty website on Long Island. The Keystone website alone receives almost 200,000 hits per month. This also has helped Keystone sell their own listings and has been a valuable resource to the agents and their customers. Searchen Network has provided Website design and assistance.
Keystone Realty USA has teamed up with Cablevision IO Homes (channel 606) for added service and value to the Keystone agent. Now all of the Keystone agents will get FREE advertising on Cablevision IO Homes. This deal is an 850-dollar per month value to the Keystone agent, for FREE. This along with the other Keystone programs and platforms have made Keystone the most sought after realty firm to work for in New York State.
Keystone’s unique concept of giving their agents 80-100% payouts on their commissions has really caught on. The question on most people’s mind is: How can they offer 100% payouts and still make money? In an interview with Michael Keegan the CEO and co-founder of the company responds, “We’re not showing any real profits right now, but that’s OK. Real Estate brokers, especially on Long Island and Queens, have had a monopoly on the Long Island Real Estate market for years and it’s about time a quality realty firm stepped in and did something about it”
Keystone Realty USA has more to offer their agents than even a larger, national firm, like Remax. Michael Keegan says, “Most of the agents we talk to think our concept is too good to be true, or that a higher payout means reduced services, but that’s just not the case at all.” He adds, “We put every dime we make back into the business. We take a proactive approach on helping our agents earn commissions while at the same time expanding the company. To join Keystone and schedule a confidential appointment call 1-800-390-8083. “Our partnership with Long Island Exchange is a small example of our seriousness in establishing a free, complete, and aggressive Internet marketing advantage for our agents. We’re not cutting any corners here”. Said Michael Keegan.
“We think Long Island Exchange customers will be extremely pleased with the service offering we have put in place for them,” said John Colascione, owner and editor in chief of Long Island Exchange. “We are very excited to take an active role in helping Keystone Realty increase online sales for their agents across Long Island and the New York Metropolitan area.”

TIMOTHY GOEBEL ATTENDING 9-11 COMMEMORATIVE IN GREAT NECK’S STERGIOUPOULIS ICE RINK!!
HOW CAN A YOUNG SKATER PERFORM ON TV WITH NANCY KERRIGAN AND OTHER OLYMPIANS?
PRACTICE–AND BY AUDITIONING AT A TALENT SEARCH IN GREAT NECK, NEW YORK
Great Neck, NY, September 7, 2006 — The New York/Long Island area’s best figure and hockey skaters between the ages of 4 and 19 can audition for a chance to perform on the ice at Nassau Coliseum with the world’s top skaters, including two-time Olympic medalist Nancy Kerrigan, Olympic Champion Oksana Baiul, Long Island’s own Debra Gibson and many more, at the Stars, Stripes & Skates’ Future Talent Search to be held at Stergiopoulos Ice Rink in Great Neck on September 14th.
The junior skaters will be judged on performance only, not on technical skill, with the competition being held in an “American-Idol” type format with the audience participating in the selection of their favorite skaters. A total of six Future Talent Searches are taking place in the Northeast this year, with approximately 15 skaters from each venue earning their way to Nassau Coliseum. These events lead to an ICEtravaganza on October 22nd, which will benefit the Heritage Foundation of 9/11, a not-for-profit organization founded to keep alive the memory of 9/11/01 by providing educational materials to youngsters and through the production of the annual Stars, Stripes & Skates events.
Timothy Goebel, who attained an Olympic bronze medal in Salt Lake City nearly five years ago, will be making a special appearance to sign autographs and take photos with the children who are trying out. Goebel, dubbed the “Quad King” for his uncanny ability to land quadruple jumps, won the U.S. title in 2001 and the World silver medal in 2002 and 2003. He was the first American to land a quad in competition and the first skater to land three in one program.
The favorites from the six tryouts will skate in a group performance in front of an estimated 10,000 people at Stars, Stripes & Skates 2006, which will take place at Nassau Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale on Oct. 22, 2006. The victorious junior hockey skaters will take part in an on-ice relay with hockey players from the NYPD, FDNY and various NHL teams.
Tara Modlin, founder of the Heritage Foundation of 9/11 and executive producer of Stars, Stripes & Skates noted, “For the fifth consecutive year, we are providing the aspiring skaters a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share the spotlight with the sport’s greatest stars - - and appear on television, as well!! In addition, the interactive format of our tryouts encourages the young skaters to bring their family and friends to support them on their way to Nassau Coliseum.”
For further information about participating in or attending the Talent Search, purchasing tickets to the Nassau Coliseum show or to make a donation to the fund, please call 212-481-8484 ext. 338 or email SSS@fireworksics.com.
Modlin further pointed out that as one of the main commemorative events on Long Island, Stars, Stripes and Skates has the full support of the volunteer fire departments from Great Neck, Hicksville and Dix Hills, among others.
Background On Heritage Foundation of 9/11
The Mission of the Heritage Foundation of 9/11 is two-fold: (1) To maintain awareness of the 9/11/01 tragedies among the current and future young generations of Americans by publishing and producing 9/11-related educational materials for youngsters all over the country; and (2) To create events to provide survivors of the 9/11 attacks with opportunities to tell their stories to younger generations of Americans.
