5TH ANNUAL STARS, STRIPES & SKATES SHOW SET FOR NASSAU COLISEUM ON

OCTOBER 22 WITH CAST OF SKATING & MUSIC SUPERSTARS & 100 YOUTH SKATERS
NEW YORK, Sept. 19, 2006 - - Tickets are now on sale for a patriotic, family-oriented figure skating ICEtravaganza at Nassau Coliseum next month that will feature Olympic and World Champion performers, musical superstars and a huge cast of junior skaters - - and that will also raise funds for an important 9/11 not-for-profit charity.

The Fifth Annual Stars, Stripes & Skates show, to benefit The Heritage Foundation of 9/11, will be held on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 3 p.m.  The event will be taped and shown on a delay by Comcast TV.

To purchase tickets, visit the Nassau Coliseum Box Office, call Ticketmaster at 212-307-7171 or go to Ticketmaster.com.  For further details or VIP ticket inquiries, call 212-481-8484.

The newly re-named Heritage Foundation of 9/11 is a non-profit organization whose mission is to keep the memory and meaning of 9/11/01 alive in the minds and hearts of current and future generations of young people throughout America.  Its primary avenue for accomplishing this goal is to produce a first-class ice show that ties together all of these messages, objectives and conceptions.

Founded in late 2001, this year’s 5th Annual Stars, Stripes & Skates ICEtravaganza will be hosted by two-time Olympic medalist Nancy Kerrigan, and will feature skating and music presentations by Olympic Gold Medalists Oksana Baiul and Viktor Petrenko (and his daughter), former New Kids On The Block member Jordan Knight, entertainer Deborah Gibson, spinning sensation Lucinda Ruh, Olympian Shae Lynn Bourne, former American Idol contestant Kimberly Locke, U.S. National Jr. Champions Meryl Davis & Charlie White, the Ice Theatre of New York, Kids of America and others to be added soon.

Also in the cast will be 100 youngsters from around the Northeast (both figure and hockey skaters between the ages of 4 and 18) who will qualify through auditions to be a part of this year’s Stars, Stripes & Skates program.  The figure skaters will perform a patriotic number on ice with the stars, while the power skaters will participate in a relay race with members of the NYPD and FDNY hockey teams.

At this year’s show, the 9/11 Honoree will be forensic dentist Dr. Jeffrey Burkes of Ho-ho-kus, NJ, who led a team of his colleagues at a special morgue set up for 9/11 victims in helping to identify lost family members, friends and colleagues.  Dr. Burkes practices in midtown-Manhattan.

Among the event’s sponsors are Weil, Gotshal and Manges, Karp Auto Group of Rockville Centre, NY, Charlene K. Verkowitz, Esq. and Fireworks ICS.
For further information or to make a donation to the Foundation, please call 212-481-8484 ext. 338 or email SSS@fireworksics.com.
