KARP AUTO GROUP & THE HERITAGE FOUNDATION OF 9/11 FORM PATRIOTIC COALITION
           

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY, Sept. 19, 2006 - - Karp Auto Group of Rockville Centre announced today it was implementing a strategic alliance with The Heritage Foundation of 9/11, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to keep the memory and meaning of 9/11/01 alive in the minds and hearts of current and future generations of young people throughout America.

In addition to a cash donation, Karp, celebrating its 50^th year in business in RVC in 2006, will also help spread the Foundation’s message across Long Island’s south shore through participation in two of the group’s key initiatives.

First, Karp Auto Group will provide copies of the non-profit organization’s youth-oriented 9/11 Workbooks to one or more RVC elementary schools free of charge for use in their classrooms and libraries.  In addition, Karp will distribute more than 200 tickets to the Foundation’s 5^th Annual Stars, Stripes & Skates IceTravaganza to be held at Nassau Coliseum on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006, at 3 p.m. free of charge to RVC youngsters. “We are very grateful to Karp Auto Group,” stated Tara Modlin, founder & president of The Heritage Foundation of 9/11, “both for their sponsorship of our Foundation and their willingness and unselfishness to help us reach our goals and objectives through the distribution of our Workbooks and tickets to our Stars, Stripes & Skates show.”

Added David Karp, president of Karp Buick-Saab-Volvo: “Our team here at Karp Auto Group is very excited and proud to be associated with The Heritage Foundation of 9/11, as this new relationship continues and expands the different types of community, civic and charity projects and programs we have supported over the past five decades.  The prominence of this Foundation, however, is the fact that the further we go into the future from 9/11/01, the more important their work will be to keep the knowledge and memories of that horrible day alive for each generation’s children.”

Karp plans to dispense tickets to Stars, Stripes & Skates to RVC youngsters through RVC elementary schools, as well as at the Karp dealerships.  Parents will be able to purchase these $15 tickets for just $10, with the money going directly to the Foundation.

This year’s SS&S - - which will be hosted by Nancy Kerrigan and will feature skating and music presentations by Olympic Gold Medalist Oksana Baiul, entertainer Deborah Gibson, spinning sensation Lucinda Ruh, former New Kids On The Block member Jordan Knight, Olympian Shae Lynn Bourne, former American Idol contestant Kimberly Locke, U.S. National Jr. Champions Meryl Davis & Charlie White, the Ice Theatre of New York, Kids of America and others to be added soon - - will be taped for a delayed telecast by Comcast. 

In addition, 100 youngsters from the Northeast between the ages of 4 and 18 who qualify through auditions will perform in a patriotic figure skating number on ice with the stars.
