14th Annual Walk-Along for Lupus Alliance of Long Island and Queens

Every day 44 people are diagnosed with lupus. Help The Lupus Alliance stop that number from growing and join the Walk-Along for Lupus this year!

Bellmore, NY – The Lupus Alliance of LI/Q is happy to announce that the 14th Annual Walk-Along for Lupus will be held this year on October 21st, in Eisenhower Park, Field #6. Greg-T and the Z-100 prize van, live music, face painting the NY Islanders give-a-way van, yoga and massage demonstrations, and more will round out the day as over 2,000 people e walk to help those suffering from lupus. 

To register to be a walker at this event visit www.lupusli.org where you can register and collect donations right online. Why not utilize those friends you’ve made on myspace, friendster, and facebook, as well as asking those out-of-town family members you never see by collecting donations online while helping those that suffer from lupus; a chronic life-threatening disease that has no known cure. 

This year, to help say thanks to those who walk and donate, the Lupus Alliance has added new weekly online contests with great prizes for most money raised online, most team members recruited and more. Pre-registered teams that raise more than $300 before 10/01/06 will receive signs with their team name on them that they can proudly display as they walk and teams that have more than 8 people will also receive pre-packaged lunches for every member of their team! The top fundraising school will receive a special thank you prize this year as well.

As always those who raise $50 or more will receive a great Walk T-shirt and those who raise $500 or more will receive a gift certificate from Macy`s, BestBuy or Fortunoff`s. Not Internet savvy? Don’t worry; you can still collect donations with a Walk-Along envelope. Just call 1-800-850-9000 and ask for a walk packet to be sent to your home. 

The Lupus Alliance of LI/Q has helped thousands of people with lupus since 1955. The Walk-Along for Lupus is their biggest fundraiser of the year.
