Lake Success, N.Y., August 8, 2007 – Canon U.S.A., Inc., donated 60 teddy bears to Child Life at Schneider Children’s Hospital in New Hyde Park, N.Y., on July 24, 2007. The teddy bears, which will be given to pediatric patients admitted to the hospital, are sold by Canon to raise funds for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) each year through their charity event, which is just one of many ways Canon supports NCMEC in their efforts to bring children home.
“Kyosei – all people, regardless of race, religion, or culture, harmoniously living and working together into the future – is Canon’s corporate philosophy and we can find no cause more worthy than protecting and nurturing our children,” said William Reed, senior vice president and general manager, Corporate Communications, Canon U.S.A. “We are pleased to present these teddy bears to Schneider Children’s Hospital. We hope these teddy bears will bring happiness to the patients.â€Â
Canon U.S.A.’s Assistant Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility, Lauraine Merlini, presented the bears to Child Life Specialist, Michael Swenson, who happily accepted the teddy bears on behalf of Schneider Children’s Hospital.
