Workshop: 2008 Decentralization Community Arts Grants Grantwriting Seminar

Huntington Arts Council announces the 2008 Decentralization Community Arts Grants for funding awards ranging from $500-$5000 for not-for-profit organizations and individual artists sponsored by a not-for-profit organization. Application deadline: Friday, October 5th for projects taking place in Suffolk County between Jan.-Dec. 2008.  Download application at www.huntingarts.org/grants. The workshop will provide step-by-step instructions and a general overview. All new applicants are required to attend a workshop to be eligible to apply. For more information or to register for the workshop, contact or contact Grants for the Arts Coordinator Linda Furey at 631-271-8423 x16 or email: LFurey@huntingtonarts.org.Â

Workshop: STRATEGIC OPPORTUNITY STIPEND (SOS) Grantwriting Workshop

A Strategic Opportunity Stipend (SOS) of up to $600 is available to Long Island artists of all disciplines, living in Nassau and Suffolk counties. The grant is designed to help individual artists of all disciplines take advantage of unique opportunities that will significantly benefit their work or career development. The application deadlines for Round 1 is Tues, Sept. 25, 2007.Â
Workshop: Arts in Education Local Capacity Building Grant Technical Assistance Workshop
Thursday, October 30, 2007 from 5-6:30pm FREE
Local Capacity Building (LCB) provides matching grants of up to $5,000 for those looking to start up an arts in education program in a Long Island K-12 school. The funding will be awarded in January 2008. LCB grants are awarded annually to Long Island schools through the East End Arts & Humanities Council, with funds from the New York State Council on the Arts. The deadline for the next round of LCB grants is November 30, 2007. Applications are available on-line at www.eastendarts.org or at www.artsined.info. If you need a hard copy mailed to you please call (631) 610-8993.
