Rock-Icon Tommy Lee Teams with DJ Aero On ‘ELECTRO MAYHEM’ North American Tour 2007
NEW YORK – What causes an internationally celebrated rock-icon to sublimate his ego and surrender to the irresistible allure of synthesized beats, dirty electro basslines, and searing, loopy melodies? Rockstar and former Motley Crue drummer, TOMMY LEE, and his partner, DJ AERO, take-over New York on their North American Electro Mayhem Tour: Thursday, August 30th at Rebel in Manhattan; Friday, August 31st at Hamptons hotspot, Stereo By The Shore, with Party 105.3FM Radio jock and Neptune’s DJ THEO (THEO opens for TIESTO at White House on Saturday, September 1st); Thursday, September 6th at High Fidelity in Rochester; Friday, September 7th at Central in Queens; and Friday, September 14th at Bliss Lounge in nearby Clifton, New Jersey.
Having achieved the pinnacle of success as a rock ‘n roll drummer with the Crue and his other bands, Rock Star Supernova and Methods Of Mayhem, LEE decided in 2000 to team-up with fellow band-member, DJ AERO (born CHESTER DEITZ), to work towards a relentless schedule of electronic music DJ-gigs. Their debut at WMC 2004’s Ultra Music Festival in Miami took the rock and dance music worlds by storm.
It’s 2007 and the Electro Mayhem Tour has gathered full-steam, led by agent JOHNNY MARONEY of CEG Talent; LEE/AERO bring their multi-sensory, audiovisual performances to clubs across North America. Lest critics doubt LEE’s sincerity for club culture after such a high-profile career in rock, he says, “I touched turntables and that was my turning-point! Mixmaster Mike and Aero inspired and taught me a lot about DJing. I started DJing and realized you could do all these things, musically.” Far from having any downtime, LEE/AERO installed a full, virtual studio on their tour bus, thus allowing them the ability to personalize each night’s set according to the city they’re in. Endless miles on the bus also bring fruitful production sessions, and original dance tracks are in-the-works.
When AERO isn’t touring with LEE, he is a web-designer and runs a lucrative, million-dollar online retail business. Says AERO of the life he now leads, “Whenever I get booked to travel to Dubai, Toronto or Zurich to DJ, I pinch myself. It’s a blessing and I’m always appreciative.”
TOMMY LEE & DJ AERO are sponsored by Pioneer Pro DJ. Their live setup consists of: two Pioneer DVJ-1000 DVD-players, an Edirol V2 video-mixer, a Pioneer DJM-800 mixer, two Pioneer CDJ-1000MK3 CD-players, a Pioneer EFX-500 effects unit, two Apple Mac Book Pro laptops, an Alesis control pad, an M-Audio Oxygen O2 keyboard, and assorted live-performance software including Serato Scratch LIVE 1.7.2, Ableton Live 6.0, and Artillery 1.3. Their live shows are a frenetic whirlwind of synthesized beats and high-energy sound.

Committee asks Long Islanders to bowl for local heroes
Melville, NY, August 1, 2007—In honor of the 455 Long Islanders who lost their lives on September 11th, the Long Island 9/11 Memorial Committee will hold a bowling tournament on August 26th at 300 Long Island and throughout the entire Nassau-Suffolk AMF system, with a Chinese auction to follow on September 9. The fundraiser will support the Committee’s goal of building a local memorial and education center for survivors, family members, and friends.
“We are honored to welcome the Committee and all of our neighbors to 300 Long Island as a way of honoring the victims and heroes of 9/11,” says Adam Hirsh, general manager of 300 Long Island in Melville. “While we can’t change the events of 9/11, we can remember in a special way the Long Islanders who died —and honor those who gave selflessly in the rescue and recovery effort.”
AMF operates 335 bowling centers across the country, including 16 on Long Island. This event is the first time a coordinated bowling event of this magnitude has engaged the local community.
“We are very pleased that 300 Long Island and the other AMF centers across the Island are joining together to support our initiative and specifically this tournament,” says Robert De Silva, President of the Long Island 9/11 Memorial Committee and a retired New York City firefighter. “Right now, the Committee is totally focused on creating a memorial for the Long Islanders who perished, and a place where family, friends, and neighbors can come for solace and reflection. We know Long Islanders will respond—they always do.” De Silva says the Committee plans to make the tournament an annual event.
Bowlers of all levels, from children to seniors as well as league bowlers, are welcome. Admission is $20 per person and includes three games, 50% off shoe rental, and finger foods. Top players at each AMF center will win tickets for a Chinese auction that will be held two weeks later on September 9 at 300 Long Island.
The Long Island 9/11 Memorial will be located in Farmingdale on the campus of the State University of New York on Route 110, Broadhollow Road. A piece of steel from Ground Zero will be part of the memorial, which will be situated in a long, open space. A resource center with educational materials will be housed in nearby Cutler Hall.
Appropriately for the memorial, the site straddles both Nassau and Suffolk Counties, and the architect is a Long Islander. The design was selected from nine submissions by a blue ribbon panel representing 9/11 family members, Farmingdale State, the Long Island 9/11 Memorial Committee and Long Island government officials. The architect is Patricia M. O’Neill, AIA, of Plandome Manor, located in the town of North Hempstead. Construction will start once the bidding process is over and fundraising officially begins with the tournament.
“The 9/11 tournament is a chance for people to come out and bowl for a cause,” says Adam Hirsh. “The only outcome we’re really interested in is making the Long Island 9/11 Memorial a reality.”
After an extensive renovation at the former Melville Lanes, 300 Long Island reopened at the end of last year as a bowling, entertainment center and meeting facility. 300 Long Island is one of six 300 locations across the country, including facilities in Manhattan, Austin, Atlanta, Dallas, and San Jose.

Why not utilize those friends you’ve made on myspace, friendster, and facebook, as well as asking those out-of-town family members you never see by collecting donations online while helping those that suffer from lupus; a chronic life-threatening disease that has no known cure.
This year, to help say thanks to those who walk and donate, the Lupus Alliance has added new weekly online contests with great prizes for most money raised online, most team members recruited and more. Pre-registered teams that raise more than $300 before 10/01/06 will receive signs with their team name on them that they can proudly display as they walk and teams that have more than 8 people will also receive pre-packaged lunches for every member of their team! The top fundraising school will receive a special thank you prize this year as well.
As always those who raise $50 or more will receive a great Walk T-shirt and those who raise $500 or more will receive a gift certificate from Macy`s, BestBuy or Fortunoff`s. Not Internet savvy? Don’t worry; you can still collect donations with a Walk-Along envelope. Just call 1-800-850-9000 and ask for a walk packet to be sent to your home.
The Lupus Alliance of LI/Q has helped thousands of people with lupus since 1955. The Walk-Along for Lupus is their biggest fundraiser of the year. With over 2 Million Americans diagnosed with lupus today, the Lupus Alliance needs your help more than ever to assist those living with lupus while supporting novel research into the cure. Please help and give your support by walking, or donating!
