PR Conference to Discuss Future of Industry
PR Conference Attracting Top Experts to Discuss Future of the Industry; New Communication Strategies and Methods
Oct. 4 TurnPROn Conference in San Francisco Aimed at PR Professionals
New York (September 28, 2007) How can PR strategies remain relevant in a market where public relations spending equals less than 1 percent of advertising and marketing spending? The answer may lie with the new face of PR campaigns that incorporate Internet tools such as Search Engine Marketing, next-generation technology like the iPhone and wildly popular communication pathways such as MySpace and YouTube.
Leading PR experts will gather at the TurnPROn conference, to be held Oct. 4 at the Moscone Center West in San Francisco, to present their views on the future of the public relations industry. TurnPROn is being organized by the New York-based PR firm Excite Media Group LLC.
“The idea for the conference came from my peers in the industry—PR professionals who have been expressing questions about how to incorporate new public relations methods into their businesses and how to utilize new technologies,†says Diane Katz, Executive Vice President and Conference Director of Excite Media Group LLC.
“We’ve organized this event because we’ve seen a great demand out there from PR executives for practical advice on how to use the new tools that are available or under development,†Katz said. “At the same time, we saw an opportunity to bring together the leading PR experts from around the U.S. to discuss their views on the future of the industry, and how public relations businesses can survive and thrive in the new marketplace.â€
