TYPE OF EVENT: FITNESS - Image Cycling at the Vanderbilt Planetarium
Image Cycling at the Vanderbilt Planetarium is a unique twist on the popular “spin” classes that you will find at local fitness facilities across the country. By combining compelling music, visually stunning images, planetarium effects and creative coaching by the Image Cycling team, we’ve put together an unforgettable experience under the dome.
With a variety of themes, Image Cycling strives to be fresh and new. We’ve produced The Dream Ride, Riding the Storm and now, The African Journey - which will be taking place on June 15, 2006. Programs that you may have missed will be featured again in the future.
John, Isabel, Tony and Maryjo are the coaches on your Image Cycling Journeys. As professionals in the fitness industry they strive for success but more importantly they want to reach out to Image Cycling participants. With incredible insight, these individual trainers have a magical way of motivating and inspiring people. They touch on matters that ring true for all of us and in this way also reach our hearts. Whether one is an accomplished athlete or a beginner on their first ride, the end result is the same - connecting and opening up to your potential and finding the champion within.
Come share in our excitement and passion for life, fitness, and the achievement of goals both physical and mental. Programs usually take place once or twice a month. For more information go to http://www.imagecycling.com/ Reserve by calling: (516) 426-5966 or email MJRuck1102@yahoo.com

ABOUT THE SUFFOLK COUNTY VANDERBILT MUSEUM
The Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum - a unique combination of mansion, marine and natural history museum, planetarium and park - is dedicated to the education and enjoyment of the people of Long Island and beyond. This mission shall be achieved through the thoughtful preservation, interpretation and enhancement of the Eagle’s Nest estate as an informal educational facility. Exhibition and program themes focus upon Long Island’s Gold Coast Era and upon William K. Vanderbilt II’s desire that his marine, natural history, and ethnographic collections promote appreciation and understanding of the marvelous diversity of life, other cultures, and scientific knowledge.
The Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum is located in Centerport, New York on William K. Vanderbilt II’s spectacular 43-acre, “Gold Coast” estate. Acquired in 1947, the museum opened in 1950. Vanderbilt’s will stipulated that the estate was to be dedicated to the “education and enjoyment of the public” and “enhanced” as a museum. A planetarium was built by the county in 1970. The facility is the legacy of a man with the resources to conduct collecting expeditions worldwide. The great-grandson of railroad tycoon Cornelius Vanderbilt, William K. collected natural history specimens, ethnographic artifacts, fine and decorative arts. Today’s museum is accredited by the American Association of Museums and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
As a public institution, the museum offers visitors the opportunity to pursue Vanderbilt’s passion - to discover personal interests for the pure pleasure of learning. Today, the museum sponsors a wide variety of public programs that promote an appreciation for the marvelous diversity of life on our planet. http://www.vanderbiltmuseum.org/
