Carcinoid Cancer Awareness Group Announces Annual Dinner Dance

(North Bellmore, NY) – The president of a local non-profit group that provides support for cancer patients has announced their annual dinner dance. According to Bob Wahmann, CCAN’s Fourth Annual Dinner Dance is a key event for generating the financial support used in the fight to cure carcinoid cancer.

“People who have come to the dinner dance in the past have had a great time, while providing funding for some very worthwhile projects.” said Maryann Wahmann, a support group leader, VP of CCAN and a carcinoid patient herself. “They and others who support our events really helped a lot of carcinoid cancer patients.”

Doctors often don’t think of carcinoid when looking at symptoms and many patients go untreated for years or are told they have other problems. Early detection is the key to survival. Current research has uncovered several promising treatments.

CCAN’s Fourth Annual Dinner Dance will be held on Friday, November 16, 2007 from 7 to 11 pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall located at 2333 Bellmore Ave, Bellmore, NY. Tickets cost $85 each and a table of 10 costs $800. A beautiful buffet dinner, DJ and dancing, open bar and a silent auction are the highlights of the night. “We started a couple of years ago helping out a handful of patients.” said Maryann. “In 2007 -2008  we have the opportunity to help several hundred. It all depends on getting the funding we need.” Want to help but can’t get to the dinner dance? CCAN is a 501(c)(3) charity and your donations are tax deductible. Visit www.carcinoidawareness.org to make a donation or to purchase CCAN merchandise. All proceeds go to fight carcinoid cancer.

Call CCAN’s office at 516-781-7814 or email them at carcinoidaware@aol.com for more information.
